Airlines to Phuket
I would like to know what recent expeiences people have had with flights from Bangkok to Phuket.
What Airline did you travel with?
How much did you pay? (single or return)
Were you delayed and if so by how much?

you need to relax on this, not a life threatening decision or experience.
Just flew Thai Airways in April. $145 plus taxes ($175 US total and no delays.
If you can't afford the domestic flights to Phuket then you should not be going to LOS in the first place.

The cheapest at the moment is One2Go by Orient Thai. I thought it would be like AirAsia but it was much better. You get specified seating so no need to rush on board plus you get free soft drink and peanuts as well as a free newspaper (albeit in Thai) I think it was either 1,000 or 1,500 each way, not entirely sure but I know it was cheaper than Air Asia and much better service. I think they are putting together an English language inflight magazine now as well.

Our flight to Phuket from BKK was actully cheaper than $175US - but we are flying into BKK with Thai International, So I think they do you a deal to book with ahead of time.

I found that it was far better and cheaper to purchase tickets while in Thailand. For my TGF , and found it was cheaper to buy her ticket in Thailand for OZ and back at half the price.
Going to Phuket or Khon Kaen etc, from BKK found prices around 900-1000 THB each. But if I booked them from OZ, it would have been approx 2000-2500 THB each.
Availability for flights have never been a problem when booking them at the last minute or a few days prior.

Maybe it was good timing on my part, but will again test that theory again when we return on the 26th, and up to Khon Kaen hopefully the next day.

I just checked AirAsia and 123go both were 1700b including taxes and charges. The last 4 years I've used AirAsia they have always been on time as advertised. I'm thinking 123go this year as their schedual is more convinent for me.

I have used Bangkok Airways a couple of times, and can recommend them. Last trip we booked AirAsia through the travel agent under C&N and would recommend them aswell. Had leather seating if you fancy that thing.

decision
Thanks
I arrive at bkk on 1535 hrs 24/9/06 , i think going with bangkok air is pushing it too much as there flight leaves 1635 hrs.
So i have 3 options cheapest first
Airaisa leaves 1940hrs so that gives me 4 hours
Fly12go leaves 2015hrs so that gives me getting on for 5 hours
Thaiair leaves 1925hrs so that gives me nearly 4 hours however they also have a flight at 1820 hrs so not sure if i could get that one .
Do not want to leave myself stranded any suggestions anyone

The 1820 flight gives you 3 hours, that should be enough. You didn't mention what you fly intercontinental. If you fly Thai air or another Star alliance plane from Europe you could even check your luggage through to Phuket.

UNFORTUNATELY quantas are the most unhelpful company its ever been my experience to use when i went with them from glasgow/london they would not check my luggage all the way through to bangkok which meant that i had to get from terminal 1 where i landed to terminal 3 (heathrow0) carrying my luggage (crazy0)
also i requested 10 months then 6 months then 1 month prior to my departure to preebook a window seat as i was coming straight from nightshift
i was told it was not allowed fair enough ! so i was at the check in desk first in the que for it opening and was then told all the window seats were all gone (to the auusies i suspect)
they then lost my luggage in both directions 5555555 honestly i am not making this up !
so now i would not fly with quantas unless i got a free flight !
agree with Dawsey bangkok air are very good and reliable !
