Majestic Grande
Hi all
Just booked the Majestic Grande after much deliberation!! (£100 cheaper than the Landmark) for 3 nights, as far as I know its GF, I booked the room for two persons as there is little difference between two and one persons, is this enough to refuse to pay a joiner fee if asked??

no joiner fee there. you should have no problem but get them to send you an e-mail confirming that.
Any moderately priced hotel 50 yards from Nana with a joiner fee would not be in business for long. That is the whole reason that they are located there.

Of course Majestic grande is NOT majestic suites..
My gut feeling is joiner will not be a problem but definately email and check.. New hotel with slightly higher prices and higher standards might be funny about it.

majestic grande no problem w/ joiner fee . I agree it never hurts to have that e-mail w/ you just in case. But normally they just take the girl's id and smile.
great place, nice rooms, and good breakfast. I'll be back.

I second that experience Jim....although I do prefer the Majestic Suites for value........in fact they are sister hotels and the only reason I was in the Grande is because the Suites were full......and they arranged for me to pay my bill to the Suites........

So you paid Suites rates for grand rooms ??
Because it seems MS has become a victim of its own popularity.. They seem full more often than not these days..
Did you pre book and them say it then or walk in ??

No LiL sorry if my post gave that impression but I got a rate of about BHT2300 which I think from memory is about BHT1000 more than the Suites and about BHT500 less than I could get on any website
Prebooked via email to Majestic Suites and the offer was made by the management of the Suites and alll organised by them and paid via card to them.......no card used or money paid to the Grande....

I always stay at Majestic Grande and there is no joiner fee involved. Only thing is that the girl have to give her ID card to the card and then thats it. Most of the males staying in the hotel has TG's attached so it's more the norm than the other way around.

Majestic Grande is a excellent hotel. I first stayed there last Nov and stayed there again when i went back in April. Providing funds allow as its not the cheapest hotel i will stay there everytime i visit BKK from now on. Rooms are excellent and you will get no trouble with taking girls back, they dont even blink an eye. The doormen in their nice suits even open the door for you and ur thai girl drunkenly staggering home at 6am and wish you a good evening. No joiner fee or anything.
Not only that as someone has mentioned already its a stone throw away from Nana Plaza and Nana Disco so the action is right on ur door step.
Enjoy ur hol.

Also dont be concered about the bed sizes. In single rooms the beds are KingSize and in the twin rooms there are 2 double beds. So no worries there either.

I stayed at the MG one year ago and the hotel is OK for the price, and obviously GF. Rooms are nice.
I noted however, that the hotel was packed with Arabs, either tourists or relatives to patients at the close by Bumrungrad hospital. The small pool is next to the brakfast restaurant, which was packed in the mornings and people sitting looking out on the pool. A thing which annoyed me were the endless wait for the elevator - only 2 for the whole building and the bell boys/maids had to use them also. I moved after 3 days.
