Wat Chalong isnt that far away from Patong.... I think from memory... And this is going back a couple of years one hung over Sunday morning that we headed towards Phuket town and then headed south.......think the road could be something like 4021 i cant remember exactly the road name/number we had a map of the place and it was nearlly 2 years ago.... It didnt take us that long to get there tho....

As i said
1 thats from memory from nearly 2 years ago
2 i was hung over at the time....

Presume you mean from Patong?...not Phuket Town.

Dead easy from either anyway...from Patong go up over Patong Hill down through Kathu straight through at the lights and straight again at the next lights till the big junction with Tesco Lotus in front of you...turn right down past BigC and Central Festival and straight on at the Central Lights and the Wat is a few miles down on the lefthand side before you get to Chalong roundabout.

It is not that far from Patong, I think about 30 minutes with a tuk tuk.

Try this link it might help

http://www.art-phuket.com/maps/phuket_town.htm

It shows where Wat Chalong is in relation to the road system in town.

I normally take a half day tour on every trip too phuket, there cheap and go to wat Chalong and normally to prophep point at sunset(dont know spelling)
I find them great to just have a quick look around phuket at a cheap price.
find the view looking out of the window while touring around very educational and can see any progress (or stupidity) thats happened since last trip .
only drawback is the gem stores etc. but dont have to venture in if you dont want too.
