Well the deed has been done, flights, accommodation and insurance all paid for in full today, thanking you all for your help, all of the suggestions have been wonderful.
Arrive Phuket on the 22nd Oct.
We fly out on the 30th spending 2 nights in Bangkok with a side trip to the Bridge On The River Kwai, visiting the Allied War Cemetery then onto the JEATH war museum, anyone here done the tour and what did you think of it.
Hubby was really concerned for my misfortune in regards to the tour I had planned to book, first choice Floating Markets and the River Kwai but alas we are only in Bangkok on the 31st for the day and the floating Market/River Kwai tour is the day before or the day after, Hubbies response was
Gee that's a shame for you walking away with a smile on his face.
Was thinking about telling him I had organised a surprise for him, not letting too much out only that it had something to do with ping pong ball, I'm sure that will get his interest up, wonder how the back of his head is going to feel after I use it for target practice with ping pong balls.
Cheers
Kate
PS, next question scuba diving and deep sea fishing do I post that in general.

Own pics with golfbag in the corner.
Two biggest junior suites are 3207 and the one opposite of the swimming pool as they are at the end of the corridor so you win the surface of the corridor in those rooms. Don't go for the 2 which look out to the sea and the short side of the pool above the main entrance (roadside). Those are old rooms, shitty bathroom full of mosquitos (there is a fanhole in the wall and you can not close that) and the roomarrangement is bad.

Hi Kate
Sounds like you are all set, hope you have a wonderful trip. With regards to scuba diving there are a lot of threads here if you search scuba diving. I did and found a world of info however I had a lot of specific questions that I didn't want to fill up the board with. I asked the question on how to go about sending a PM to a BM with specific questions. Heard from Seafox and Nelsonone both have been very helpful. I think both of them will jump on any scuba related question
Enjoy your trip

Its a good trip.... The bridge itself is ok..... But taking a train over the bridge and the war museum... and the allied cemetary... Very intresting places to visit.... Its an early morning start tho.... I think if i remember rightly i got picked up at 6.30ish am (i still had the hangover)
Its a long day with the journey on the "Death railway" but well worth it... You will have a great time....

Hi Dawsey,
With all the suggestion I don't want to offend anyone with them thinking I have not taken their suggestions seriously, have taken a lot of notes in regards to information, this really is a wonderful site with a mountian of information.
Maybe I just a little to careful but the other issue I have is that people reading this forum know my first name, when I am arriving and how old I am etc,etc just a security thing, sorry Dawsey, I may post it a little later when I'm a bit more comfortable, this is the internet and there is a lot of nutter out in cyberworld.
thanking you all.
cheers
Kate

Hi Kate,
As for diving October is not the best time of year but it is starting to get near the better times. There will be daytrips to the dive sites south of Phuket and some operators might be doing the Similans by that time if the weather looks good. You might just want to wait until you get there to see what the sea conditions are like when you get there. If it was November to April no problem but got hit by some late storms when I was there in October once.

Hi Dawsey,
I will post some of our photo's from our trip and I am also planning to hang around here and learn as much as I can in regards to Thailand and it's customs before we leave.
I'm even thinking about posting on one of the topics that really is one of the mens topic's after having a discussion with my husband in regards to some of the posts, the topic is in nightlife and is titled is it safe without condoms, was really surprised with his comments.
Cheers

Good idea Kate, always nice for a new member to get involved with different threads. It would be interesting to see your opinion matched with your husbands.

Hi Marc,
Nothing much offends or shocks this almost 50 year old, was just surprised at my husbands comment seeing we have been together for so long.
Cheers
