Where does the ferry leaves for Lanta and Phi Phi?

I am going to spend some days on Lanta in January. When I arrive, I want first two days rest, before departure.

Now is there one way to get there, normal boat, or is there also possibility for a speedboat. Where do they depart from, as I will choose a hotel for 2 days not too far remoted from the place.

Thanks!

Usually from Phuket Town to Phi Phi (and then to Lanta). Just book the tour from any agency and they'll pick you up wherever you stay.

Maybe for a tour, but the boat cannot depart itself from town! They must depart from a place, like Rawai maybe?

The ferries go from a couple of places. Normal place to go from is Rassada Pier. You can just go to a travel agent and they will book you on a minibus and a ticket for the ferry. Usually an early boat about 8:30am, then two at about 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Have a look here

With the big ferry boat it is just a easy trip, it is like a plane inside and you can order drinks during the drive. You can buy your ticket at any agency and the minibus will bring you there in time.

The trip with the speedboat can be very hard on a stormy day, when you do not have a easy chair for sitting.
