The Little Mermaid phuket(Kata)

Hi gang,
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the rooms atthe Little mermaid(Kata). Is it a noisy place, are the rooms decent, are all the tv channels in Danish, is the complex cramped, has anyone stayed in the old geust house?

I emailed them for info on the 9th, but so far I have not recieved a response, could mean nothing, or it could be a bad sign,so I am starting to reconsider.

By the way, does anyone know of a nice apartment that I could rent (if this deal falls through) in kata or Karon? I will be there from Dec1 through Jan10, and I will eventually be spending half of the year, so I would love to get some good rental connections.

What room type are you going for?

I believe the cottage is better then the guesthouse

Guesthouse starts at 300 something but is real basic
the new building rooms are better.

The new building however is on Patak Road so the road side might be noisy from trafic though it is not uphill there so not to bad. For the rest it is a reasonable cheap location Depending on when you are going I might have some better spots in the same pricerange that are definatelly better.

Edited: contact me on PM if you like something simple with low price per month (9000-12000 per month achievable), centre of Kata and definately quiet. Just seen you staying long.

Finally got the return email. They have some pretty good sat tv stations. Now for the confirmation.

The Little Mermaid in Kata is Danish owner and managed by a guy called Neils (aka Moneypenny on the Hash).It is a good place and has the Hans Christian Andersan restaurant attached to it.Great food.
