K&N Guesthouse- anyone stayed?

Hi

Just had a search, but there doesnt seem to be much posted about above guesthouse in Soi Jintana. I'm familiar with its location but would like anyones opinion who has stayed there. I know Diz recommends it,just wanted anyone elses view.

This is the thread I looked at

I think it is very nice. Talbotman and Tim26Swe stay(ed) there. Guestfriendly, nice and clean althought not luxurious but still nice and good enought in my opinion. Big swimming pool. Good location. Decent rates.

I was there when the guys decided to have a pool party after closing time at MTB.

One building is five floors I think and I guess having a room on 4th or 5th floor is not so nice thought without a lift. Talbotman stayed on the ground floor and had the pool just outside his room. (perfect)

The other building is just two floors if i remember right.

Hi Dawsey,

Met a guy who stayed there in April and liked it. Went up to his room on the day that he was going to Koh Samui and the room was huge, basic but lots of room, big shower/bathtub, lots of floor space and nice TV in room. Not much in the way of grounds as it is mainly concrete with a small garden but a decent pool next to an open air but covered restaurant and bar.

Place was well taken care of and the owner, who I met, was nice. German guy.

Nicke is right about the 2 buildings, my friend was on the second floor of the smaller wing, nearer the soi.

Talbotman is there on his tour so PM him.

And a bunch of BG's live on that soi.

and you should change your signature line to "who rustled all the doughnuts?"55555555

Thanks for the info guys. I'll PM Big T on his return. It looks like ground floor rooms are the way to go then, near the pool.

Hi Dawsey,

As you walk on the property the 2 floor wing is on the right and the left side is a small garden followed by the office. The back of the property is the 5 floor wing on the right and the restaurant/bar followed by the pool at the back of the property.

Place looked good to me and I was thinking of staying there in April but will be at Royal Phawadee Village (2400 baht a night including breakfast and taxes)with my group. Might come in early and stay at less expensive property and K & N would be an option.

Hi Wylos,

Soi Jintana is L shaped with Jintana at end of long leg of L.

K and N is on left side as you walk in from Rat U Thit, second to last lot before you take turn to head straight down long leg of L to Jintana. The buildings in the last lot were torn down in April so not sure if anything has been built there. Couple of little Thai stores where BG's hang out on other side of soi.

I think you mean I had the pool to myself - no room for anyone else with me in !!

Top drawer guest house in my opinion, clean, very friendly staff German owner and Thai wife, convenient for Bangla Road, in-room safe, huge main room, huge bathroom and I think if you check Talbotman's current tour thread, he recommends K&N in his first or second post. Only downside is it's popularity which means unless you book a bit in advance (by email or telephone) then it's hard to get a room there.

I have some photos at home (now at work) I will try and post them later, but at the moment I have to get past my TG to get to the computer in my bedroom

If you have pics of the rooms Diz I'd much appreciate a quick look.

Sent an email enquiring about availability and price for next Mar/Apr. I got a reply next day, no prices ,but 3 rooms available.
I'll hold on and wait until Mon to see if Diz can post a room pic, although I think I'll probably book K&N anyway. Its well recommended.
Thanks for previous info about this place Diz

K & N

had lunch with big T last week, looked a nice little clean place with good pool and location. No doubt the big man will post full details ...(if he can remember) and give full detail of the inside view of the toilet bowl...

Talbotman

I RECOMEND THIS PLACE NO PROBLEM

the location is good only an 8 minute stroll along to bangla road plenty of money changers and atms within 2 mins eating places including subway only 1 minute away the rooms are huge the toilet was bigger than most rooms i have had 555555 the staff including the owner were fantastic and for only 700 bhat a night. i was originaly booked to go from april 29 till may 7th i was quoted 800 a night then. only one slight problem if you book contact them again maybe 1 week before you go to remind them that you need a taxi pickup my taxi did not arrive and the airport taxis did not have a clue where the place was and neither did i 5555555 but for someone like you dawsey it would not be a problem as i say the difference in price if any is going to be maybe 100 bhat a night its not a lot but i would book now and specify you want rooms on the ground floor next to the pool although i can tell you on the afternoon caerphilly came round there were 2 thai guys there doing the preplanning to put an alevator in the boss said it was being done next month. the food at the poolside coffee shop was basic but good and cheap just what you want in the daytime .
