Blue Marine and Spa Resort

What are the reviews or opinions about the Blue Marine and Spa Resort at Phuket?

i personally do not think it is worth the money
its has nice rooms and a couple of nice pools but the service in the poolside restaurant is horrendous
everyday waiting 10 minutes for a cola after ordering gets annoying
also, for some reason, the pool areas seemed so friggin hot to me!!

So Blue Marine is nothing special.
Would like to stay in a hotel with beautiful gardens and swimming pool. (pref. Patong or Karon)

For the same sort of money you'd pay at Blue Marine you'd probably be better at Club Andaman which is also within walking distance of Patong shopping/restaurants and nightlife wheras the Blue Marine you would need a tuktuk every time. The gardens, pool area and bungalows and I think the ground floor have all been totally refurbished last 18 months....had to be as it all got trashed by the tsunami.

I was told that Club Andamana caters the tours/excursions.
What about Patong Merlin?

Again the Merlin is even further away from Patong than the Blue Marine...does have it's own private beach though.

If you don;t mind, I'm talking about the Patong Merlin the one right next to Holiday Inn not t he Merlin Beach Resort.
