Cheap flights from Munic to BKK
Just if someone is interested.
The airline etihad offers flights from Munic to BKK (and back) for 450 Euros! (all inclusive). Just a short stop in Abu Dabi (2 hours).
Not sure but i think they have one from Frankfurt to BKK same.
Myself booked with www.opodo.de

The worst i ever fly was aeroflot. Service and food horrible. Stewardess always speak russian with me. (although i told her several times i am not from russia). Video and sound didn`t work.... and so on....
The best i had were EMIRATES and of course THAI.
The german airlines LTU and Condor were even bad. Very small place to sit and unfriendly stewards. If i can avoid it i don`t take them.

Yes, have flown to BKK with Etihad and back some months ago and was excellent. On way back plane was only half full enough to strech out and have a good sleep! And duty free shopping in Abu Dhabi is not bad either!

Its very good Mim,far better than BA IMO.A lot cheaper too. If you like to get duty free goods,Abu Dhabi, your changeover, is one of the cheapest in the world,a reasonable choice too. Great for electronics, phones, cameras, watches, perfume and smokes.

Oh good, but I'm guessing the plane and the airport is going to be dry. Though I do remember Gulf airways serving alcohol. I'm not an alcoholic but I like to stock up on duty-free just incase I want a night cap in the hotel.
I can't wait...under a month until I go to LOS!!

Why should it be dry???? Abu Dhai is not Saudi Arabia. And is for the inflight catering and drinks its as Western as you can get!
ANd even within UAE you can by alcohol!

Hi Mim
As hgl says Etihad is not a "dry" airline. I remember my first flight with them to BKK as a group of 4 young men drank the whole stock of white wine and had to switch to red before landing.
Duty free alcohol in AUH is a good price, you can pay in Euros as well
This is no "bar" as such in the airport, but IIRC you can get a drink at the small coffee shop on the ground floor by duty free.

Mim I can assure you that Etihad at the moment is one of the better ecomomy airlines if you fly from the UK ( Make sure you fly the 777 with them as the smaller planes might be from the old leasefleet).
Short connect times in Abu Dhabi and nice light interior in the 777

Well I'm glad to know I can stock up on the booze during the 1 hour stop over!
@ Erik, that's an interesting picture, I read somewhere that they had interior lighting that matched the colour of the sky outside but I couldn't imagine it until now.

Its actually mood lightning and changes from blue to red etc. must say I slept to long to see it work, but the colors were there :P
To be honest: why fly someone else from the UK. 400 pounds flies you to bangkok.
OK the 430 offer on Thai direct from heathrow is nice too (for those that did not know it yet, it is the same offer as earlier this year including the 40 pound for domestic extention (20 pounds one way is 1400 baht for an extention to Phuket if i read it correct)
