Domestic flights - advance or at airport?

I'm arriving in Bangkok on Saturday at noon and need to get a connecting domestic flight to Phuket. I looked at the discount airlinges (Nok, onetwogo and airasia) and they all seem to have strict rules about not being able to change your flight schedule. I want to book in advance online but worry that my international flight could get delayed and I'd miss the flight. Is it really necessary to book in advance? Are tickets usually available if you just purchase them at the aiport?

Not necessary but you can save yourself a lot of time and dosh by pre-booking. The cheap airlines are all offering discounts and promotional prices at the moment but not if the flight is same dat as booked must be 24 hours before. If you are not too bothered about saving a bit of dosh, I would still check out the times of the flights on the internet before to save you walking from sales desk to sales desk to get the right connection time, or once again if dosh is no problem just book with Thai Air in the airport as they fly every hour.
