private car and driver: highly recommended!

Sometimes getting around Phuket is a bit difficult if you're not renting a car - especially if you're out at the Cape Panwa as we were. Another forum recommended a local guy, Mr Mor, a youngish, university-educated man who speaks excellent English and is highly reliable, polite and can offer lots of tips and information, but doesn't push you to visit any shops/art galleries etc as he doesn't work on commission. He drives a new, fully insured Toyota Wish that can take 6 passengers. Hire him for getting to and from night markets, for the half day or full day. Half day from 600 baht (depending on the mileage); full day from 1500 baht. We hired him to go all round Phuket, shopping, visiting the temples, up to the northern beaches, down to Surin, Patong, dinner at Rawai Beach. He also knows some good-value local restaurants and can help you buy DVDs/CDs at an excellent price. Highly recommended. Email him on pongkands@gmail.com if you want him to collect you from the airport, or to book him (he's very popular so gets very busy). You can also phone him on 01-6472643.

The OP has assured me its only a recommendation to help others.
As its a service for anybody in Phuket, there is no harm in letting this post stand.
No cats and no bag littlenose

Maybe you should remove the poster's email from your quote as he has removed it from the original?

Smile Best way to tour the island

I always recommend this method to any customers who ask me.There are a few private taxi guys that offer the half day tour and this takes the hassle out of having to drive and navigate a hire car.

The ones I have used in the past have a stance opposite the Merlin Hotel on the Ratutit Road. They speak good English and don't push you into shopping stops.
