I find Asiarooms expensive and normally use Travellerspoint Travel Community or Hotel Reservations. Discount Hotels Worldwide

2 line answer speaks for it self..I personally feel better just emailing the hotel and taking it from there I probaly pay a bit more but it gives me piece of mind , like to have the car waiting straight to the hotel and no crap.

My worry is asiaroom is the only agency got a confirmation for a resort, all other sawadee.com;hotelthailand;ko-chang.com said that the hotel is fully booked for a period before Christmas.
I've booked & they confirmed my booking via email and everything seems proper. However, i noted this remark in their confirmation email
Your reservation is part of the "Pacific World Thailand" block of rooms at the hotel. Information on individual reservations is not available at the Hotel
Please print the Voucher and keep it until you arrive at your hotel.
Please note that you must hold this authorized voucher when checking in at the hotel.
You can also print a slip of the transaction. However, your invoice will be available 7 days after your check-out date.
Something fishy here? Asiaroom advising me not to contact the hotel directly?

To Floppy: the official webpage of the koh chang kacha resort and spa is not available.
To Aussie Dollar and Simbo:Thanks to your reply

Why not try the online booking service run by Nicke (who runs this forum)?

I guess what they are saying is that Pacific World Thailand have block booked some rooms (fairly common) and you have one of those rooms.. Those rooms may not be in the prime spots or able to move around to any other room in the hotel.

I used aisarooms for my KL concorde booking.. When I booked it descibed the booking for 'superior' room and I figured for a slightly better than normal room I would book at that price and all fine.. When I checked in I was given a regular tower room.. Checking showed that the hotel has tower rooms, premier rooms etc and a 'superior room' booking was not getting me a premier room.

It was an OK room anyway and good hotel and I was not bothered about it but it felt a little deceptive.. I havent yet bothered to go back and check the site to see if you can buy a regular room as I had planned at the time I found out.

Thanks LivinLos.
So this let me understand that the confirmation is OK, am I right? As I read other forum posts from someone that used asiarooms, their booking was canceled or no booking at all coz asiarooms didn't send the request on time. Asiarooms usually send the request two weeks before the check=in but debit the card in advance (at the time of booking).

I was typing my suggestion while you had just posted.

You could try contacting the hotel direct.

It my be that the other companies only have a few rooms they can offer and they have all gone.

Guys,

Can I use this existing thread to ask a question.

I notice that some of the online sites (direct rooms, asia rooms etc) are not showing rates and booking schedules beyond 31 October 2006.

Does anyone have a feel for when these sites are updated to show prices and availability for peak season?

Thanks
BU

I used Asia rooms last year and they were fine, although the pictures were some what deceptive and we ended up on Karon beach as oppose to Patong where we wanted to be.

We stayed a night in the Best Western in Karon, which I wouldn't advise, guests cost 500bh and the rooms are pants.

I asked a BG on Soi Eric and she recommended the c and n spa.
This year I checked Sawdee and asia rooms, but I got a better deal going direct, and I also have transport to and from the airport foc. I don't have to pay any deposit either.

So I would get the number or email and go direct

I have already priced rooms after Nov. 1st in Koh Samui and Chiang Mai. There have been no problems in researching dates beyond Oct. 31st.

Thanks Texan, you are very helpful. I hadn't heard of Precision before, but I am keen to book some accommodation very soon for December, so I will give this site a look.
