Phuket Thailand - Taxi from HKT

Apologies but I am a newbie to this board. I am arriving 6th October at HKT airport and am looking for a safe reliable taxi to take me to the Holiday Inn. Have used the cab booking office at HKT airport on my last visit, but was scared shitless as the driver kept falling asleep en route.

I also thought the fare was expensice in camparison to other journeys made in the LOS. Can anyone recommend a driver/company. May also have some other fares during our stay.

Apologies in advance. I am sure this question has been asked a million times before.

Airport limo is about 550 baht and taxi meter maybe 400-450 baht.

The main reason I dislike limo drivers is the dangerous behaviour and speeding, not the price itself.

If you are booked into the Holiday Inn paying their prices I would think that the airport transfer would (read should) be free or cheap.

If I remember correctly, the Holiday Inn pick-up service was "free" from airport to hotel but 700baht going back to the airport. I could be wrong as it was 3 years ago and I've stayed at several other places that have a pick-up service as well and could have got mixed up. Even if it's 700 each way, it's only an extra 200-300baht and you don't get taken anywhere en route and given the hard sell.

Why not ask them how much ? At least you'll know how much to compare against the airport limos.
