It is not girl-friendly. BMs report that the joiner fee is 1000 Baht.

I have stayed twice in the Busakorn wing (at the back) and for me it is a great hotel. Both times I with with someone and checked her in as a guest, but as has been mentioned already, overnight "guest fees" are very high and I get the impression that the hotel does try to deter it. I found the restaurants very good, the staff very polite and helpful, the food was always good and reasonably priced. The pool is great and very spacious ( there are several but I refer to the one near the Busakorn wing) but I don't know how much the rebuild (post tsunami) of the main wing and pool areas has affected things, if at all.

I stayed there in June, very nice hotel, even the superior rooms are very good (normally you don't get rooms this good at superior level). The Busakorn wing is even nicer.
When I was booking in, this old "large" guy was refused entry with a BG. The staff were having none of it.

I was same as Diz, checked in with girl into Busakorn wing - v nice hotel but wouldn't count getting girl in, even with money. Did see obvious 'bar girls' leaving on a couple of occaisions though.

Never liked holiday Inns to be honest... They like to call themselves a high 4 star but IMHO they are a good 3 star hotel charging 4 star prices and giving 3 star services. Although i must admit what they've done in refurbishment post tsunami is quite nice. I often have a drink at the terrazzo bar, nice atmosphere, open air and you can watch the people go by or look out onto the beach. Didn't know about the super unfriendliness towards guest. You can find nicer hotels for a better price that are guest friendly, so i wouldn't recommend the Holiday Inn.

I have had three 10 to 14 day stays in the Busakorn wing over the past 12 months. The rooms, pool and restaurants are excellent and the staff are amongst the best of any hotel. Prices are reasonable and the swim up bar is superb. The hotel has a focus on couples and family and is certainly not BG friendly. I know a couple of guys who got girls in but they told me it cost a lot and it would have been cheaper to get another hotel room. They will not BG's in pool or restaurant. The location is very convenient and verk close to the massage places and Christins and just far enough away from Bangl Road (5 minute walk)

holiday inn
i stayed there over xmas and new year this year, great location and good for families. a freind of mine on his way back from oz stayed two nights and brought BG'S back twice without paying guest fees. also across the road from the entrance about fifty meters or so down towards the beach there is a massage/ hair cut place were us men can go for a hair cut and a massage with a happy ending. great if you are with the children and not getting much action with the wife.
