I thought was really amusing the other day when in the transfer area there had the gate number signs behind the TV's so no-one knew what gate was what. Then they start boarding a flight but not tell anyone what flight is boarding, no signs or annoncements. I think the poor girl must of been asked 300 times what flight it was.

But the structure is quite impressive to view.

How long did the taxi take from norfolk to LOS??????????

I arrived in BKK, (from USA) last week. "Suh wanna poom" airport.

I'd been through the new terminal before, and thought I knew my way around.

I had reserved a rental car (Avis), and after clearing immigration/customs...I proceeded to arrival (door 5), to obtain my car. The prior times, there was a small counter there...with Avis and Budget offices.

Guess what??? No counter/office there now! Only 2 or 3 big (AVIS) signs, saying..."for rental service, phone ##### this number".

OK, I place the call. Answer..."OK, khun pablo...you stay right there, I send someone." About 10 minutes later, a young lady (in AVIS attire, and a battery of cellphones, and clipboards), arrives.

On one of her (clipboards), she has my reservation confirmation, and...(my) rental contract, all filled in. Next, she needs my credit card, passport, IDP, (driving permit), which she will take to their counter.

I (let) her write down my credit card info...and give her a photocopy of my passport. I let her take my "IDP".

It seems, that the rental office has been moved to (somewhere), inside of the security area...just after immigration/customs. But, no signs...or visible directions! And once you've departed the (secure) area...you can't return!:mad2
:

The (AVIS) girl, returned in about 15 minutes...with rental forms, and my IDP. I signed, where required, gathered my copies and was led to "curbside"...where the (AVIS) "guy's", were cellphoning for cars. After another 15 minutes, (my) car, came screeching up to our front.

The morale of the story is....Look for the rental car counters, (before) you depart the secure area. Save yourself, a LONG wait...for your car.

Airlines are handling it differently though so you probably won't know if you have to pay until you leave.

Warning to anyone getting a taxi to Don Mueang from s v n p o o n.

On this trip I went direct to my TG house which is out by DM,

Last time the fare was around 300 - 350 Baht it depends how many times the driver get lost and drive around looking for the correct street. plus highway charges offhand I think around 125 Baht, but this was from departures on level 4.

this time i went to the taxi stand, normally there is a 50B charge for this to downtown Bkk but I know they give prices for outside of downtown, there was 650 Baht written on the chitty given me and the driver said this was the cost but he would pay the tolls.

Not sure if I was done by the driver as he still had his meter on and it was only around 300B or if this is the norm so with the tolls it would have been around 425B

So if anyone is getting a taxi between airports its worth checking the price.

Next time I will ask the price at the stand and if its is 650 Baht I will be upto departures.

Red it in Pattaya News that they rised the price from 500b to 700b in Feb. so i was read with my 1000b in hand but no one seamed to care and the "officer" didnt even speak english so asking was just a stupid falang idea´

ps. I always had to pay 500b before going with Thai Air!

Arrived 28 April around 1300 comming from Europe at the new airport. Immigration was shit, worse than Doi Muang. People were queing even outside the hall in the corridor. Had to wait a long time for bagage and no ground staff to help with the problems of to much luggage on the belt.

1ST if your flight ticket is an E-TICKET your departure tax is included in the price if you have a paper ticket then you still have to pay departure tax at suwanapo0m (from pattaya secrets board)

2nd when you come form plane on arrival go to the very first imigration desk area you come to dont listen areto those stupid gits who are telling you to walk on to the next area

in march i arrived at noon with emerites only walked about 100 yards and came to imigration desks which had only maybe 1or 2 people waiting at each desk but was frantically waved onto the next area a further 150 yards on when i reached there i was met with ques of about 150-200 people at each desk not for me so i went back to the first desks and 2 other flights had arrived and there was now ques of 150-200 paople there also 1 hour 40 mins standing in a que sort of pi sses people off especially as if you had ignored the 2 idiots who sent you to the other desks you would now have been halfway to pattaya

another tip on departure make sure you buy something to drink before going to the boarding gate there are no facilities to buy anything at the gates and if you have to wait at the gate for an hour as i did because some ass hole turns up late you are killed by dehydration by the time you are on the flight

Right, but it is possible to walk back through the security if you want something to drink. But that can be a long walk. Also, thee lighting was really low so it was hard to read there.

No girls there either so if you want that you should bring your own 555555

TIT. Don't worry about it because there is (hardly) nothing you can do anyway. Bring your 700 baht to the airport and if you don't have t pay, then you have 700 baht for the next trip. Besides, if
