October MEL/BKK with TG

Anyone travelling MEL/BKK with Thai during October should try and travel on a Saturday flight TG981/982 as on 7th, 14th and 21st these flights will be operated by A340-500 aircraft. These are ones that do BKK/New York non stop with heaps of room.

Also from 1st December Melbourne is getting the new 777's on these Thai flights.

Looks like a much longer wait for the A380s though. I see Emirates are reviewing their plans to buy extra aircraft too. Pilot shortage??

Apparently the story with Airbus is that the electrical engineering department where using an old version of the engineering software package and the other departments where using a newer version of the same engineering software package, but unfortunately the 2 versions are not compatible, so the electrical systems could not be intregrated into the final designs easily, resulting in the delays. Abit of an oversight.
