help me find a cheap hotel in january (patong)
hi guys its my first post here. me and some friends are going to patong between the 3rd of jan and the 15th of jan 2007. but we're having a bit of trouble looking for suitable accomadation.
we were trying to get accomodation at jintana patong hotel but it's all booked out.
here are our requirements.
we need one twin room (2 single beds)
aircon
pool
and fairly short walking distance (max 10 mins) to patong beach and also bangla rd.
the maximum we want to spend per night is 1400 baht for the room
if you have any info at all for a suitable hotel this would be FANTASTIC. and if you could reply here, that would be great.
thanks for your help guys!

Hi Limbo
.. sorry I don´t know a cheap hotel. It could be a little bit difficult to get a room, because it is the top hig season. Hope other BM can help you.
..and I think it is better you did not show you E-mail adress, because you can get a lot of spam. Better the BM answer per PM in the forum to you.
BTW: Welcome to the board and have fun...........

One twin room with single beds ?? Not my idea of quality accomodation !!
Budget is not very generous for high season.. With your location requirements (Bangla walking and beach walking) and pool it will be tough but probably possible.
Me I would want my own room and personally would look at a place further away from the beach and bangla to get more for my money.
Enquire with Patong Villa, KN Guesthouse, Summer Breeze, Orchid, Maybe Yorkshire (last ones no pool but very close to the large Baan Benjamins pool)..
If you modify your requirements to be away from the action and look on Nanai Rd area you should find it easier (Palm View, Sun Hill Hotel, Andaman Hill, etc) and leave some change for Bike rentals or tuk tuks.. I know some people like to be smack in the middle of everything but I am the opposite.

This may be a reverse case scenario Werwolf - it always seems odd to me when someone joins the forum and posts their email address when asking for help on a first post. I can't help feeling that anyone from the forum who does answer this will get bombarded with SPAM themselves. I.e. this person is fishing for email addresses.
I could be wrong, but then again...

Hi Limbo
Try Baantonsai Garden Resort on Nanai Road. It's only 10 mins walk to beach and about 15 mins to Bangla. They have a website Baantonsai Garden Resort & The Natural Resort.
If you book online you can get deluxe room with tv fridge etc for 800bt in January.

Try Lucky Leks Guesthouse, positioned in Soi San Sabai, currently is 500bht per night and empty, Lucky Lek said bookings were not looking good for the high season so far so if you are quick could probably pull off a good deal. Perfect location for Bangla and the beach, shares the pool at Baan Benjamins, which is only a short walk away. If no website post again and I will ask for you next time in Patong, also saw a place advertising 300bht per night in Soi Paradise, yes I know this is the gay area and you will loose a lot of cred if pictured walking that way home but heck 300bht!!!! And before rumours start, I was in there today cos I always park there when going to the Bank, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!
PS of course both rates will increase for high season but should stay well within your budget, might even let you get 2 rooms, unless sharing is your bag!!

Piss off the idea of getting a twin room. Don't you want to get yourself some girls when you are in Patong? They won't be too happy with this twin room business.

Baan Ton Sai is at the southern / Karon end of Nanai.. They have a pool and either AC or fan rooms.. I have no idea whats on thier website but some of my (long stay, Thai speaking) buddies use it as a ST hotel.. Rates this summer have been 200 baht for the fan room and 300 baht for the AC room.. For that price its a steal (pool, clean rooms, sheets changed) but its not 'resort' / classy quality..
I took an Ozzie guy I met at Muay Thai Boxing there about a month ago and he got the same rates (monthly 9k for AC, no discount below 300) but I cant think they would hold that over for high season.
There is a big sign at Andaman hill pushing 700 baht rooms, its not close to beach or bangla but its a nice hotel with a large pool and IMHO quality furnished rooms / service.. Also I know (if you really want to, and most would not) they have a 2 bed mini suite near the pool.. Its an odd shaped room and seems to be left until everything else is full but its twin queen beds and on the pool sauna level. I snagged it for a mate over Song Gran when rooms were hard to find and thought it a good deal personally.
Other Nanai Rd bargains are blue sky residence (pool), toy mansion, paddys inn etc etc.. These are not in the middle of the action but if you can ride a bike (while drunk) or take bike taxis they are bargains.

Fair dink'em sport, I hope you can make allowances for the more cynical of us forum members here All the hotels/B&Bs I know have already been mentioned, good luck with your search.

My parents booked Pappa Palace for their November trip, located in "Soi Jintana" close to Bangla. Jintana was fully booked during that time.
Its very nice and more up-market than Jintana or KN Guesthouse, the price is however around 17-1800 baht/night.
Still a very nice place, me and Ead went there today to check.

In rainy season the road is muddy and dirty but in high season when its dry it shouldnt be any problem. I hope they finish the road completely soon with asphalt. As Patong needs a new road through Patong. (Should be done when Jungceylon open I think)

Loads of hotel listings here.
Phuket Hotel Guide - Thailand hotel by price, location, facilities and offers
If you're looking for somewhere really cheap with a pool the Vises Hotel in Sai Nam Yen Road about 300m up from the Hospital, same side have rooms for 6000baht a month right now. Think they go up to 8 or 9000/month in high season.

Always stay Yorkshire on San sabai, good value and the owner employs the pommy landlord approach, great personal advice, hospitality and no visitor fee.Somewhere someone spoke of an electric charge on the apartments...well of course apartments are different to hotel rooms, the fees minimal and if u are enviromentally responsible and turn stuff off u dont pay much. They are expanding their range of accom as well.....

Do you know if this places is "Guestfriendly" ? In that case I think I stay there for 4 weeks in Feb I´m not sure what means with "discount 200"
Do it mean that if I book online I will get the room 200 baht cheeper, or what ?

Hi Indeloom,
Looks nice for the price. Another Swedish guy stayed there and I believe its Guestfriendly" or he wouldn't have stayed there Here is a link to the thread
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...ntonsai+Garden
Reading the website, yes it is a 200baht cheaper booking online for the deluxe room.
