Singapore Airlines new cabins
Have a look here for the new cabin designs and seats which will be introduced on their new 777-300ER's later in the year. Looks pretty good, with some rather strange and original inclusions even in economy, USB ports in every seat for instance.

Looks very good and too bad they don't have it in the 777-200's which they use from Amsterdam. Then I could give a review on it next month!
Still they are the #1 for me though.

I wonder if this only applies to the 777-300 ER. I flew LAX-NRTon a 300ER and it was great. This new version looks even better, particularly the IFE. Wonder if they will mod the 747 this way as well since I'm on a 747 on my next LOS trip in January. Couldn't tell from the web site.

Its funny, but as long as the IFE and food/service is good, the proper way to improve Economy on any airline would be to remove a couple of rows of seats to give us poor s0ds in cattle class some leg-room. Fat chance it happening though

They actually have that. In one of the economy sections of the plane they have removed 1 of the seats across and their are less rows so more leg and hip room. They call it executive economy class and they charge about 20-30% more for it on top of the economy class published rate. It is about 1 and 1/2 to 2 times the price of a discounted economy coach fare seat but much less than business class.
LAX to Phuket low season
$787.50 + Tax for discounted coach.
$1339 + tax for executive economy.

Thats a big markup for what can only be 2 -3 extra inches of legroom Chris.
All airlines should follow Air France and Air Canada?? plus others, and have 34" seat pitch, not the miserable 28" min on some carriers. IIRC Singapore economy is 32"
As the wife said, those extra couple of inches make all the difference

yep, but some people want it. Sell about 80-20 economy to executive economy.
Me personally, I use the $600 that I save, by buying an economy seat, on booze. So instead of being happy on my flight I am happy in Los instead.

I agree, but when you can have the same seat pitch with some airlines in economy for the price that others charge in premium economy I get annoyed.
If it works though, they ain't gonna change

I understand that.
American Airlines made a big pitch about roomier seats and more leg room but not sure it drove that much more business their way. US travellers don't take long flights as much as Europeans do so not a big deal here.
But I must say I hate sitting next to some guy or woman that is 30 kilos overweight, not that I am a small guy but I don't have rolls of fat hanging over the armrests like some US citizens do.

55555555 Its not just US citizens Chris. The UK has more than it's fair share, and apparently,we are getting bigger.

At the moment they dont have any plans to retrofit their 747 fleet, as it will be gone in a few years. They are moving towards an A380 and 777 mixed fleet.

Top Airline imo. Flown with them 3 times and cant fault them in any way. They are a bit more expensive but worth every cent.
Flying with them again on Sunday
