Staying in Phuket for a week..please tell me...
I am a single guy (straight) looking to stay in a high end hotel/aprt/bungelow close to bars/ nightlife/bars and on or near the beach. Dec 5- 15.
I am willing to spend 100- 150 a night. I do not want a huge touristy complex though. I do want a nice pool fitness room and the beach!!!! Also, I thought about renting a Motorcycle/scooter for the week...pros, cons? Thanks

pros--it is always nice to stay in a nice hotel
cons--the big/expensive hotels usualy restrict you on bringing a "guest" for the night. you either have to pay extra, or she needs to be out early in the morning.

Have a whole apartment at the Yorkshire inn.. And full use of Tai Life leasure complex (minus gym).. Not 5* hotel but a full 1 bedroom suite, very nicely furnished and a superb leasure complex.. Drawbacks are not all in one site very very minor walk between them.
Its smack in the middle of town and should be well under your budget. As others are telling you many of the up market hotels are not guest friendly.. That means they may charge you a per person guest charge and additionally some tend to act crappy to the guests you bring in with you. Nothing spoils my enjoyment of somewhere more than having one of my companions or friends treated badly or with less that normal respect.
