Anyone here know of Patong condotel or SKy Inn?

My wife and I are going to be in Phuket for 6 weeks, arriving in January. We are looking to stay in Patong for about one month. After much searching I've found what seems to be a decent place at a good price. But I dont know anything about the building. I think its called the Patong condotel, and the Sky Inn is located in the building. Its located on Rat-u-thit road. I'll be renting from the owner who owns 2 rooms in the building. He wants 15,000 baht for a month. Any opinions on this place and am I safe sending a deposit to someone I know nothing about. Most all the other places i've found want about 1000 baht per night. We are just looking for a decent place in central location, with aircon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've looked at so many guesthouse websites lately, that I'm ready to book and be done with it!

Thanks! I sent an email to find out price. Though I dont think that it is going to be as cheap as 15,000 baht for a month.

Sky Inn is where all the bg's and lb's rent cost 6k per month, no aircon. Condotel is oppositish, next door to Devana Hotel, as Denver sayes Wolfgang runs a lot of rooms in there and will get you a good price. Externally a little bit tired, small row of shops on ground floor, never went inside apartments. Lil will probably know of somewhere on Nanai, send him a PM, not sure I would want to stay at Condotel or Sky Inn with my wife, or thinking about it even without my wife.

Sounds a bit steep to me.....knew someone that leased there in high season for 9000 baht, and his was quite nice. When I saw it last, the building was a bit run down, but I heard it has been renovated.

Good luck with the trip Bestman, let us know how you get on and where you eventually end up staying. I think Dodger 'n' Duncs took me around that area on one of thier magical mystery moonlight and other things beginning with the letter 'M' bar crawls one night, I reckon Dodger was lost. Place looked like it could do with a lick of paint but hey! If you only looking for a month it might just fit the bill.

Safe journey.

Thanks so much for all the replies. Being new to this board I have still yet to figure out all of the abbreviations. What would a bg and lb be?
So doesnt sound like condotel gets any glowing reports here. I've emailed so many different places looking for prices. 80% of them dont even reply. The others want 30,000 or more for a month, not really offering me much if any of a discount for a long stay. If anyone here has a suggestion on a good place for 15,000 or so a month, I'd love to hear of it. Aircon is a must, and a small kitchen is prefered.
We are spending a total of 2 months in Thailand, so I'm scrambling trying to book rooms for the different places we will be in. Staying a week in Bangkok before heading to Phuket.

Check out these "stickies" in the "Newbies Area" , most of the abbreviations are there , and it will also give you a bit of info about posting etc.
