Is it true?
Is it true when you are booking a hotelroom whilst you are alone under two names you don't have to pay for guests ?

I have always booked for a double room. Told them I had a friend coming in a few days. They never gave me any trouble about it. It all depends on the hotel I guess?
Cheers,
Ashley

I have done the same, plus if the hotel includes breakfast it gives you the option to have breakfast for two as well. Many hotels have a marginal up-charge for double occupancy.

Depends on the hotel. What you are referring to I think is some hotels have a double occupancy rate for about 100 baht more which will save you paying joiner fee every night BUT this is only at hotels that people think of as guest friendly already. In other words you can't just do this at any non-GF hotel you choose and expect to be able to bring back a different girl every night without paying.

The tactic you are saying will usually work once.. Check in and say your GF is checking in later, if they ask for name just say lek / noy / nid / etc and leave them at that.. when bringing in said 'gf' tell her that her nickname is lek / noy / nid / etc..
But unless your staying with her for multiple nights its not going to work the next night.. Also you need to be more aware of leaving the hotel with her as she may get grief from the staff..
I tend to always escort a girl in and out in larger hotels anyway as bellhops, front desk, etc can be really pretty nasty if its a hotel that discourages guests, especially if shes in hotpants and gogo boots etc.. Was close to smacking some bellhop in a Hotel near cowboy for asking the girl I was with 'how much' with a sneer in the elevator.. Didnt need to as she rounded on him like a viper !!

At the Swissotel, Le Concorde in Bangkok I have brought in a different girl three nights in a row. The second and the third night security directed us to the check-in counter. When there I gave them my name and room number, noting that we were already registered. A quick look at the records and we were on our way.
On the other hand I have not considered excorting them out of the hotel as well, I like that idea, thx.

Some hotels have a rather complicated system with guests. One place I stay at a lot, has a policy of the first girl free, any new ones after that is 100Bt per night!!!
After my first stay, I always book for 2 people (same price as 1) and have had no problems with joiner fee!!!

You book a ROOM, not the girl in the hotel. We were allways discreet on these matters, as long as the room was payed.
We had much more trouble with Farang women getting hysterical, then Thai girls.

??????? I don't get this one.
Seems like you are having a strange day. Maybe you ought to power down the computer and start again tomorrow.

Tanman I was manager in a hotel-group. Maybe my behaviour is indeed the reason why they sacked me after 30 years! LOL
In BKK, we did not ask, a fee, for a girl staying overnight, white Asian, or whatever. We sell rooms!

Yes, but this is a thread about the ones that do and how to get around joiner fees with guests, etc. Best to read the whole thread, not just the last post.

Unfortunately not all hotels act in the same way. Twice in the distant past I booked a Double Room, but the hotel I was staying in said that I had to pay a joiner fee when I brought a girl back Their argument was that I was the only one that was checked in, so the BG was an "overnight guest" and therefore I had to pay.
First time around, I swallowed it (first visit to LOS) but when it happened the second time, I played them at their own game. When confronted and told the above, I said "OK, check her in then and she will check out tomorrow morning". Obviously, they said I couldn't do that so I told them to show me, in writing, their hotel policy where it stated that someone could not be checked in for one night. They could not.
They then tried to call my bluff.
Next morning, sure enough, I checked her out but the cheeky sods tried to check me out as well. I blocked that. I was then informed that I could not check anymore BG's in. I just smiled and said "so you pay me a refund ??" They just smiled and laughed and said "no". That night I took another BG back and asked to check her in. Duty manager came out and said "no", so I asked to speak to the General Manager and I couldn't give a f**k if he was in bed or not !! After 30 minutes of me playing "their game" again, the duty manager caved in and told reception that was not to be charged for any overnight guests. In turn I had to stop asking for a refund.
Job done, but I doubt it would work again. LIL's advice is the best thing to do.

When I booked my cancelled trip, I first asked, if it was a problem to bring a girl back to the room, without surplus. That is the first thing to do. Many hotels do not bother, in Bangkok or in Phuket.
In Phuket, a lot of people stay at the beach/pool-area, a bar-girl is frawned upon, by people with families. Now I understand that. But then just find a way to refuse the bar-girls and not play the pimp, to accept them, after paying a fee.
If you would fancy a white girl, even a hoo*er, you will not get any trouble. I hate this racism, by their own people!!!

I would like to mention that at the Phuket Palace Resort at Patong, you book a room same price single or double, and I have found that when you bring a " guest " home they are well and friendly treated, and no additional cost, and that covers the breakfast for both, PHUKET PALACE RESORT
