Yep it was, and they kept everyone onboard hoping they would get clearance. Not my idea of fun, but you get what you pay for.

yep 2 days ago all flights grounded, saw they were just started in vancouver, cathay pacific taking all the london clients home, don't know about your end.IMHO probablly could not keep up with the massive hike in fuel costs and still keep price low enough to be a lo-cost airline.

Cathay is my favorite airline of all time
cant praise them enough

so even when Oasis was 700 r/t, id book Cathay at 1500 r/t

I cant see why they didn't put there lowest fare up from £69 to what ever, to cover the cost of fuel rise! But then Im not a business mogul.

It must of been quite a sudden bankruptcy, as they were still planning to open more routes up until 2 weeks ago.??

things like that happen
they are hoping to get more financing to cover operational coverages right up until the end

One of my mates is a pilot with Oasis and gave me the bad news two days ago. Oasis was sold only two or three months ago to a new investment group. Will find out more details shortly but he's already been offered jobs with a few other carriers.
