Lost in Translation
It's been a year since I've been in LOS so I'm not exactly fluent in Thai speak at this point but I've read the below response from my reservation request 5 times and what I get out of it is that--yes, I'm "confirmed" but they might give away my room because they are busy at that time so I should check back later. Unless I'm reading it wrong at this hotel "confirmed" in Thai means "if we have a room available you can have it".
Dear sir.
Thank you very much for your reply e-mail, we would like to confirm your booking room on period 25 - 28 November 2006 (3 nights), for 1 standard room with a big bed in A-wing, the room rate @1,100.- included breakfast only/ per night and you will be arriving in pattaya around 8:00 pm. (20:00 hrs.) in the evening, noproblem, we are accept, we are sorry, if on that day you already arrival to bangkok airport, could you please call back to let us know again because on that time, all rooms, we still busy sir.
We are looking forward to welcome you soon.
Best reagrds.

It sounds like they will take your name and reserve it, but if it is the last room on those days and up comes someone else with cash in hand, they will give it to him.
Better to give them you cc details and let them charge you now. You'll sleep better.

Hmmm sounds like your room is reserved for you, but if you don't re confirm when you arrive at BKK , then they may let your room out.
Thats my take on it anyway.

Looks like Its due to the fact that your arrival is late'ish in the day. and they have had previous problems with people not turning up so thye dont want an empty room.
Give them a calll from the airport to confirm.

Yeah as above.. Sounds like a very iffy 'reservation' like remind us in the morning and we will hope we have one..
You dont say what time you get into airport.. If you get in in the AM and they are a big hotel maybe they feel they always have someone leaving and if you call in the am they then are sure to have a room in the evening when you get there.. Its also only early high season so maybe they are confident of 80% occupancy and its a formality.
I would send a clear email saying that you want to have a 100% reservation made, offer to give them you CC to make the reservation stick, explain you wont have a phone on arrival and dont want to have problems (true or not) getting through.

An email is fine provided someone the other end checks to see that they are receiving some. If you have the tel, no I'd ring from BKK airport and demand to know if the room is yours or not.
Take some alternative back up hotel info just in case.
