water pressure in the taller hotels
Still trying to decide which place to book!
One room is on the 7th floor of a building. My wife is concerned that there is a good chance that they will have very low or no water pressure that high up in these older buildings. This is in the Patong condotel/skyinn building. Any experiences with showers with very little water flow?
Also, anyone know what the current situation is with the big mall that they were building a while back in Patong?

Water pressure.. OK everyone likes a power shower but your not going to have every detail of your trip spelled out.. Take a risk, live life dangerousy, maybe have low shower pressure ??
Jungceylon is due to open Dec 1st.. Looks like they are very busy and might do so.. Only 2 years late !!

I agree! My wife tells me this story about water pressure and I look at her like , WHAT? Just give me enough water to wash off the dust and I'm ok. My wife on otherhand acts as if she needs a waterfall. Women are never easy.
Thanks for the update on the mall.

The mall sounds good. I keep calling it Jungle Cyclone.
Another place for BGs to take BMs to buy gifts...

Seriously guys the man wants an answer.
The fact is all water tanks are built into the roof of multi story hotels in Phuket due to the low water pressure, And a further saftey feature is they actually build in leaks in the roof to catch rain water in the wet season to top up the water tanks.
So no probs with low water pressure. o high floors, in fact the higher your floor the higher the pressure.

Now there is a guy who knows the ins and outs of plumbing. My wife will be interested to hear this. I guess in Kuwait and Egypt where she grew up, they used a different method. Shes got all kinds of stories about not having any water through the daytime, and then having to hoard it when they did get it. And this is only 30 years ago and in nicer buildings.
Just the thought of going without water again makes her a wee bit cranky.

Here are a few reasons you may not want to have any water pressure: - The ocean is just walking distance away. You can bathe there.
- With no water you can't drink it nor can you make coffee, so you will have to resort to beer.
- You can neither cook nor play maid, both may require water
- You will have an excellent excuse for a daily trip to Christin's for a soapy (or two if you so desire)
- Any leaky faucets will not be dripping and hence not keep you awake at night

As well as being high maintenance, my wife is also a worrier. I think all issues have been resolved and we are good to go. Did someone say something about about the tv not having a remote????? Just when I thought everything was settled.

LOL......She has already thought about the potential cockroaches. For that reason she won't let me book anything on the first floor. She's hoping the higher up we go, the fewer cockroaches. Little does she know, those buggers are tenacious climbers.

OK have you thought of this: if the building catches fire the Phuket fire brigade cannot resue anyone above the third floor, as their ladders won't reach, but, if you book a room below the third floor you increase the risk of burglars?

LOL.....YES, strangely enough, the wife is aware of the burglar thing. She may have to hoard water now to fight the potential fire.
