Went past this hotel last trip and thought to myself, this looks nice.

Looks very impressive from website pics as well, and I'd be tempted to book during low season. Just a bit too much for me in high season though.

Sorry, no personal experience of the place myself.

Yes, very impressive. Last time when I stayed at Thara Patong Hotel [ at the opposite ] it was just in the building fase. Does anyone know if it is guestfriendly ?

Will be staying there at the end of this month so will be able to report back then.
It is my understanding that it is guest friendly.

Will do, it was a fellow BM that recommended it to me so should be pretty good. Now I just have to get passed 14 more days until I get to leave. But who is counting

The seem to have built it on the site of a place I stayed at on my first 2 trips (crissey villiage ??) and have to say they have made it look superb but.. Its location used to suffer from lots of noise from the old seapearl and the new seapearl is under construction. So your looking at building noise then bar noise, might just shatter the serenity of those pics.

High season prices a little high but the room pics look superb.. As its brand new I would imagine you could push hard for discounts during next years low season as they wont have an established client base yet.

Met one of the managers at a dive show in Orlando Florida this weekend and the resort is fully operational. It is guest friendly and has 3 restaurants and pool on site but definitely a little pricier than what most BM's want to spend. I had a tour of the property in April while they were doing the refurb and liked it a lot. Will be staying there in April 2007.

Nice pool with jacuzzi that is near the bar.

Nathan said he was already very busy for certain dates already. Has a lot of previous clients as the company owns 2 liveaboard dive boats and a dive shop in Phuket.

only 34 rooms and the problem is that some of the people who stay on his boats will book a short stay at the resort so they might not be full for the whole time that you are looking for but are full for some of the days that you want.

Definitely guest friendly.

When the owner took me on a tour of the property in April he said, "We would be stupid to build a hotel in Patong and not be guest friendly".

I have only seen it from outside but it does look very nice, I like the style very much. (Thai style?)

As for fully booked, looks like coming months will be very busy, I can see that a lot of the booking requests made on this website returns a "Can't offer" message.

They refurbed all of the rooms, even to the point of redoing all of the interior walls, put peeked thai tile roofs on all buildings, built a new pool, 3 new restaurants, added a spa.

The only bad thing is that only 2 of the 34 rooms have a bathtub, and they are the most expensive, pavillon, rooms. But the showers are pretty big.5555555

I have just come back from 12 nights at the Salathai. I went over to the Phawadee for a quick look. Room rates were about the same as Salathai (say 2500 - 2800 baht for standard room). Hotel looked nice, everything is brand new. The receptionist said there was no joiner fee. I didn't check out the rooms themselves. On the down side there is currently a lot of noise from the adjacent construction work (Soi Seapearl complex). It was very noticeable in the Salathai Restaurant and pool area so it must also affect the Phawadee.

did you come across any other similar high standard hotels with good rates??
i'm booked at stoney monday for 5 nights cos absolutely everything I checked was full. stoney has rooms if I wanted for another 2 nights but I wanna stay in a good beachfront hotel even if it will cost more.

I have stayed at Salathai last 2 visits and I can recommend but you are going at peak period so availability may be a problem anywhere. I have stayed in the past at Thara Patong and it is also nice but does charge a joiner fee. Same applies for Patong Resort and Patong Bay Garden which are also nice but charge joiner fee. If you are going to have a lot of ''takeaways'' then no joiner fee is essential but if you indulge only occasionally then maybe you will just have to pay the extra as it arises so to speak (hehe little joke there). I am sure you know but there is a lot of good information about Patong hotels on the net. I would guess that for a decent 3/4 star hotel at peak period you are looking at 3000-3500 per night.

If you spend any time in BKK then I can recommend the Majestic Grande on Sukhumvit which is nice hotel , well located and girl friendly.

thanks for that info. i've just confirmed my rooms at Royal Phawadee Village.
i'm gonna have to make sure I come home drunk so I dont hear the construction next morning....
bkk already booked at majestic suites...round the corner from nana. if i'm not mistaken i think majestic suites and majestic grande are different.
