Flights to HKT from UK from £99
Found this in the NOW. Charter Flight Centre Home page [charterflights.co.uk]
Very cheap, I think there are a few surcharges but still works out a good deal if your trip is going to be 21 days or less.

Thomson are the charter airline, don't know if this if direct, non-stop to BKK, I doubt it. With the supplements I'd expect an additional £100+ but its still good value at the quoted fare of £149 that I looked at.
Don't have any experience of charter airlines in a long time, but a flight as cheap as this I would view suspiciously

Just had another look and the flight times are pretty good. Only 14.5 hrs to get to BKK from LGW so its a short stop somewhere, probably Sharjah for fuel.
Entering "London Airports" I got a price of £199 + supplements return, for a 17day trip so it is looking a bargain for someone on a tight budget.
I really would call and find out the itinery before booking this one though.

I've been ringing around a few places in the UK that are showing 'Bargain' type flights around the 150-200 GBP. It only took me until the second call and being told that "those particular seats have been sold innit......but I can offer you.....XYZ.......innit" to realise it was a bit of a ploy to get you to call them and then for them to offer you something else around the price you can buy it yourself directly from the airlines + add on thier commission on top.
I have no doubt someone will say they have managed to get one of these cheapo flights but I am thinking along the lines of 'If it looks too good to be true............etc etc'
Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Personally I would never travel on one of these charter airlines, I would pay the extra for some comfort.

Me neither, but I suppose there are some who will put up with a couple of days discomfort to save money. It the reliabilty of the flight that bothers me.

55555 Never mind the flight crew. I'm a passenger, look after us.
BTW by reliability, I meant cancellations/long delays, the kind of things that charters sometimes get a bad name for.
IIRC, Airtours in Europe has a pretty dismal timekeeping record. As you said,Thomson is a favoured tour group here.

Sounds familiar TL, probably one of the ones I contacted. Doesn't take long to realise that it's all bull to give them a chance to sell other expensive tickets!
I was suckered in by it and I'm sure I won't be the last.

PS BTW Our Travel Manager here has managed to find me a flight from Manchester through to Phuket for $1050 return which is quite flexible over a one year period (Cheap to change) and not a bad price considering I have left it so late. Via Abu Dhabi with Etihad. Bangkok Air I think to Phuket. E-ticket pick up at Manchester. Sold to the fat bloke from Rochdale.
