I've not seen a mention or review of this hotel on the forum. Looks quite nice but a little pricey when you are trying to save 150 baht on a taxi fare between 3 of you. Sorry can't help with a review.

Maybe not too pricey.... I spot a pattern here. One big taxi, one big bag, maybe one big room??? with one big bed????

Most likely reception WILL notice ... depends how you react ... its high season so thats not over the top price for this time of year ... if they ask for you to pay for extra bed then advisable you pay ... and if your taking girls you may well find joiner fee as well ...there was a thread on this recently.

PS. I stayed at Belle Aire 10 years ago - great location next to the beach and enjoyed it there - must have been renovated after the tsunami.

Completely new place Kev , this one is Sai Nam Yen , looks like it's around the "market area" near Rat-U-Tit.

Bel Aire Resort, Patong Beach, Phuket Thailand

Looks very nice - can bet that its not GF. Nice website too - looks a good place for families or couples.

Happy memories of the old one by the beach - not sure if its even still there.

I'm just curious qqsim, you said you are 3 adults and a child, and you have booked only one room
If you don't check in the third adult, then reception will want to charge you. They will notice the 3rd adult "sneaking in".
They now make a charge for bringing back a female friend, this was discussed elsewhere.
To answer your question, yes you do have to pass reception to get to a standard room. Someone is always on duty there too,and there is a security guard outside too.
If you pay for an extra bed, you should get one. Why not book the "sweet suite" at Patong Villa. One large double bed (2 adults only though ) plus a put you up bed. There is plenty of room for another single bed in these suites. Price around 2500 baht IIRC.

If money is so tight, why not leave it a while until you can afford two rooms?
Or get 2 much cheaper rooms elsewhere. Sounds like you can't really afford this trip to me.

Fair enough. I hope you all have a great time.

If that is the case with the rooms, I'd definately look for somewhere a little cheaper and get 2 rooms. A little privacy for Mum perhaps

Well K&N guesthouse in Soi Jintana is much cheaper (800-1000 baht) with a pool. Close to the beach. Bangla is about 7mins walk

Unfortunately, the website is down, but if you email Nid at knhotel@hotmail.com she can confirm price and availability. Search KNHotel here and there are some remarks about this place.

Im staying there next March for the first time

Damn I have double checked, and I have given you the incorrect email address.

It should be knphuket@hotmail.com. Address your mail to Nid and you should get a reply very soon.

Apologies to you again

Edit. If its any use to you, their telephone number in Patong is 076294151 and Fax is 076340865.
I hear that its better to fax as there is sometimes a language difficulty on the telephone if you are not a Thai speaker.

Cool Bell Aire

It is situated on Si Nam Yen and the small side street where the Gym is.

They stated they would be open in October but even now they are still building the reception desks.

I don't think they are ready to receive guests as yet.

Have a good trip, btw when are you going?

Erm, a city tour can be arranged there, normally a minivan can take you around the island for popular tourist spots for bout 1000-1500 baht per van or car.

You should always arrange tours when you get there.

From the website, Bel Aire Resort, Patong Beach, Phuket Thailand the room rates seem to be good.
