Both excellent airlines . Qatar stop in Doha, Etihad in Abu Dhabi. Used them both before and really rate them.
I would book now if you have a firm price under £450. Etihad is my favoured, but up 2u I'd be looking at the length of stop to change planes to decide.
Try typing Etihad and Qatar in the search. Quite a few comments about them both.

Not really the forum on here to go into details, but you'll be right just enjoy the flight. Just some internal issues they are working on.

We fly out end of Nov on Qatar Business Class - they have an offer on, Buy One Get One Free in Business Class!
£1320 each in Business, BA want £2500 each! Ive flow Qatar Economy, Business and First in the past and have been extremely pleased. First was something else. The seat took up teh same space as NINE economy seats!
They have a great service, even in Economy.

Thanks for the post, I am booked to fly with Qatar in Business Class on Christmas Day !! What chance the FA's in skimpy red outfits ?? 55555
Seeing that you have used them before and had good service puts me at ease a bit more as this will be my first time with them.

Woohoo !! This is getting better by the day !!
I have read airlinequality dot com's site and there's lots of good reviews there, but I couldn't find much else, even Qatar's website doesn't really give much info on the cabin classes. By that I mean info on seat pitch, size, how much the seat turns into a bed etc. This helps to gauge which seats might be the better ones to ask for at check-in.
The other thing to consider is whether the FF programme is worth joining, or else getting the miles added to my BMI Star Alliance card. The trouble is that currently they only give destinations miles and not membership miles. Shame to "waste" 26,000 membership miles
Any thoughts ?

Well, if you don't try the chances are you won't get !! Also, being a very busy time of year and with Economy tickets being around £850/£900, I just asked them about the possibility of getting me a Biz ticket with Qatar for £1,350 as it wasn't much extra and they said OK

I'll post some more about it when I return - the seats depend on which aircraft you're on
The FF program is great if you have a lot of luggage as even as a base member you get something like 20/30kg extra. As far as miles go I already have QR miles and this trip will get me enough for an econ r/t to BKK - in your position I'd probably take the BMI miles and add then to the pile for *Alliance cash+miles upgrades.
