Thai PSC(Airport tax)

Is it true that for bookings made after 01 November 2006 for departures on or after 01 February 2007, the Thai PSC (or TS) charge of 700bht (international flts) (approx £10) will be payable on the ticket , rather than at the airport.

Woukld be easier.I have seen so many people at BKK asking fellow travellers for 500 baht to pay airport tax.

Cool Correct

You are right. They have announced that the departure tax of 700 Baht will be incorporated in the ticket price. It should make things simpler.

Apparently if you buy your ticket between now and 31st January to travel on or after 1st Feb and therefore pay the 700Bt PCS then rebook your flight to depart before 1st Feb, you can get a refund at the airport.

Can't figure out how that is , you have paid 700 Baht (when buying ticket) , then you go through the hassle of changing your ticket (possibly costing money) , then get your 700 Baht rebate but still have to pay the airport tax (500 Baht).

Where's the great idea.

This hassle is only for people who change flights AND do so from an after Feb 1 to a before Feb 1 departure. For everyone else it business as 'usual' (old way till Feb and after that the new way). That makes it great for 99.9% in the short term and 100% in the long term.

Thanks all for the info!

It's a pity you can't stay in transit but I have to grab my bag and go through customs and then immediately check in again with Turkish airlines

Aaaah buggers, what somebody has to do to have fun
