Flights from Phuket to Bangkok

I am travelling to Phuket on Wednesday and i am considering travelling to BKK. Could anyone advise me whether its far enough to justify a flight or is it a car journey? Also how much would it cost for flights opposed to a taxi journey? Journey times etc? Any help would be welcomed. Thanks

FLY!

Journey by car takes 9-10 hours and road is quite dull and uninteresting - by the time you take the cost of car hire and gasoline - probably cheaper to fly as well.

Flight takes 1 hour.

Welcome to the board Bundy.

Forget the Taxi anyway! Its over 700 KM!

Get a Flight... Loads of flights every day from Phuket... 2000 bt (Approx) one way... I recommend Air Asia or Bangkok air... Google for their sites.

You may want to have a look at a Map of Thailand too! Its a big Country...

Have a good trip...

Flying is the quickest way i have heard it takes about 10hours by car, it depends how much time you have but you get to see more of the country.

Thai Airways
Bangkok Airways :: Asia Air Travel, Airlines, Flights, Samui Thailand
Welcome to AirAsia.com...now everyone can fly...
www.nokair.com
One-Two-Go by Orient Thai Airlines

have a look at the above sites .

When i went from bkk to hkt i used thai air which was very good and i paid just under 3000 bht. They were very good.

have a shop around

Yes guys thanks for the reply's, i will take into consideration all of the views of the members here. I will check out the flights and costs shortly. I have had a wee look at some maps, but the reality is that its such a big place i have found some maps, but most have been maps of Phuket itself as opposed to Thailand as a whole. I just wanna fit in some shopping for some fake clothing, and BKK seems to be the place to go. Been to MKB in BKK before and found it ideal. Just wondered if there anyone who could point me in the direction of some good fake clothing in Phuket, then i wont need to fly to BKK, and i can enjoy my stay in Phuket. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Bundy, clothing is cheaper in BKK yes.....Fake sunglasses too!!

It will cost you b3,500 return Phuket with Nokair.

The fake clothing you will find in Phuket is same same as BKK.

Unless you're gonna buy container loads, it's hardly worth the venture.

Just brush up on your haggling skills.

Best place I have found pricewise is the open air market on the Sainamyen/Rat u Thit crossroad. Plenty of shops on the Beach Rd but tend to be priced a bit more. Some decent- non fakes in Ocean on Bangla Rd.
The main shopping area of Patong isn't that big, so you can find all you need pretty quickly.

Save the air fare to BKK

What about travelling to Koh Samui from Phuket? How long would it take and what the best suggested method of travel? I fancy going there to check out the full moon party at the start of December as i never got the chance to do it last time when i was in Pattaya and BKK. Once again any help or advice would be immensely appreciated.

It won't be long now, just gettin packed at the moment, off work for 3 weeks and i leave for the airport the day after tomorrow. 2 more sleeps and ill be there!! Catch up with yous shortly

You can fly from Phuket or Pattaya U-tapa to get to Koh samui or you could stop on the way between the two
