Travel 01/01/07, 02/01/07

Have arranged last minute trip to Patong so arrangements are a bit rushed.
Some advice please.
Fly out to Australia from Bangkok 02/01/07 7.55am. Have to be at work 03/01/07.
Have flight for Phucket to Bangkok 01/01/07 arrive bangkok 8.25pm
Questions:
Is there accomadation at Bangkok airport
What is the practicalty of heading into bangkok on night of 01/01/07 and having look around without booking room and getting taxi back to airport at 2-3.00am, need to be at airport at 6.00am to book in. I sleep well on plane so lack of sleep does not worry me. How long airport to bangkok city.
Any help appreciated.

There are airport hotels but if your not looking for that it can be anything from 30 mins to an hour or more depending on traffic to Nana by taxi.

Another option is after a walk around to pick up a girl in Nana and get a short time hotel in Nana plaza itself its about 300 or 400 Baht for a couple of hours.

No need for accomodation in Bangers unless you require st room, hit town by taxi take approx 30 mins and same back especially at that time of morning.

Heres to you having one last fling before departing to Australia, plenty of time to sleep on plane on the way back!!
