Yep Jim twas a wonderful weekend seeing the bought and paid for Trojans fall the way out of the BCS. Should not have any been there last year but good to see Texas give them some love.
Victory bell is now blue thank you very much. GO BRUINS

OK so the baby bruins win once every eight years or so, I'll grant you that. But now it's time for your boys to clean out their lockers and go to el paso or moline and play in the 99 cent bowl while the cardinal and gold make millions for the pac 10 on Jan 1.

Yea, i know we're way off topic but it wasn't that good to begin with

Temp,

I just noticed Cathay Pacific has a good deal from LAX to BKK, departing between Jan 1 and March 31, 2007 ... 749 usd (plus the obligatory fees), puts the total around $800.

Yeah they play in the Emerald bowl in Cali I believe. Thats ok the thought of knocking those cocky biatches out is treat enough for us. BTW USC had one the last 7 years in a row with the Bruins beating the bought and paid for Trojans * ... thats right 8 years in a row. Have fun in the rose bowl, USC loses to MI would be great. Die Cardinal and Gold.

This sounds really good for this time of year. You may want to jump on this deal. Usually i get round trip for $780 US total including taxes etc. but that is not during this time of year. Grab it.

Was that first/business or economy class experience? I flew each twice now and my impression was that they were pretty much the same. Booking was easier with Cathay, but Thai has the time saving direct flight.

I've done the flight from New York on Cathay, Thai and China Airlines all in economy class. I have learned my lesson and will pay more to fly Cathay or Thai. Much less cramped and much better service. Not having a personal video player made that China Airlines flight VERY long.

funny, business to economy on Cathay is not a major difference. they do such a great job in economy that their business service really cant be leaps and bounds better
and their business seats are not as great as say, BA's or Singapores
i also did the thai airway direct once

the obligatory fees are a lot higher than that. Fuel Surcharges are now added to the fees.

and why tell him about a January to March fare when he originally said he was going in September.

hmmmm, funny .... I didn't see anything about September in this original request.

Also, from the Cathay website .... $749 includes all taxes except for a $61 fuel surcharge fee.

No joke, those surcharges have gone up quite a bit in the past year or so. That Cathay deal of the month did include the taxes and surcharges I believe. To get that $750 rate you probably have to go in Feb. mid-week or something. Here is an example of one of their fares LAX-BKK in Jan:

USD 828.98 Adult x 1 608.00 220.98 Total fare USD 828.98

USD 7.00XY - USA - Immigration User Fee
USD 4.50XF - USA - Passenger Facility Charge
USD 14.50US - USA - International Arrival / Departure Tax
USD 19.58TS -
USD 5.00XA - USA - Animal and Plant Health Inspection Fee
USD 5.00YC - USA - Customs User Fee
USD 2.50AY - USA - Security Service Fee (September 11th Security Fee)
USD 14.50US - USA - International Arrival / Departure Tax
USD 148.40YR - CX Fuel / Insurance Surcharges

my bad, I pm'd him and he told me his dates.

too busy on other stuff, mind is elsewhere.

Just make sure that all fees are included but Cathay does have some great deals to Bangkok and Manila on their website.
