I posting this because I just had a great stay at this guesthouse. Nice little gem of a place. It's run by a Swede by the name of Bernt Ferb who is a great host and absolutely loves his staff. All rooms are nice, clean, have big beds, a strong A/C, cable TV, their own security lockboxes, and balconies. It is also quite GF. I opted for the large room.

Bern is also an ex-chef and has run his own restaurants. His food really is quite good.

It is located right off Nanai Road right near the Fresh Market. Its about a 5 minute walk from Bangla Rd and a 10 Minute walk to the Beach.

If you're looking at a not so expensive stay at a cental location with great food this place is it. Tell him Christian from NYC recommended his place.

Just wondering if the June/July 2006 building work on this Soi has now finished? Walked past the hotel enterance a few times on my last trip the street was full of builders debris, materials and waste skips.

Has the street scene improved? Early morning noise etc etc?

Your confirmation would help

The building is up but they're still doing the interiors and constructing across the street. Patong is always under some sort of construction I find. They really don't start work untill welll after 10. Not really a bother for me since it was my alarm clock and it told me to get my lazy ass up. Also the street from around the Fresh Market hasn't been paved yet. It's just a dirt road at this point. Again not a problem as I usually rent a motorbike or walk. The best thing about the location of the place is its quiet at night but close enough walk to Bangla when you feel like partying with the crowds.

Not a bad recommendation seems to be, but I find the position not completely so central. Most hotels in sansabai offer similar standard and prices and are removed only a stone throw from the Bangla.

yep....but SS hotels are booked out quite often

and Ferb's rooms are very nice,large and well priced in comparison to many SS hotels

I just came back from my first trip to Phuket and stayed for two weeks at Ferbs Guesthouse.
Even I can not compare it with other places around it is really a great place to stay.
The rooms are clean, big enough and still look freshly renovated.
The food is great and the service of the staff is just great.
I really had a good time there. Since I was new to Patong Berndt was really helpfull, told me prices of the Taxis etc. and helped when ever he could.
@Berndt, thanks again for a great time!

Oh, another surpluse is the good an fast internet coneection, every room has a lan cable. That was really usefull for me so I could allways have a look on the forum if I needed infos.

I hope to be back at mid of March.

I sent them an email cocerning a room, but have not yet received a response. Did you guys book the room beforehands? or book it when you got there?

I booked my room in advanced.
It is a bit strange, that you did not receive an answer yet. Usually Bernt is quite fast in replying his emails. Just send it once again.

It was funny. Sometimes I got an answer back to an email in minutes and somtimes it took several days. I'm staying at Ferb for my first time in 4 more days. I'll be there for 2 weeks

If you didn't get your first email answered, I agree you should send it again to make sure they got it.

ive filled in my reservation form 4 ferbs twice he havnt got back 2 me yet
