So check out other budget carriers if you are flying with your child as although 12go are the cheapest at 1700 single flight maybe the others could work out cheaper if no charge on kids.

That`s normal although most companies say that children under the age of 2 fly for free you still have to pay. Had the same with my kids when they were that young. The company explained to me that it was some sort of insurance you had to pay for them.

The flight back was another matter, approached check in desk in Phuket and gave the girl the tickets for me and the missus.
Sorry but it is peak period she said, you need to pay additionally 500Thb per ticket.
Discussion was fruitless, so stumbled over to the booth where we were supposed to pay.
I wasn't the only one there and all wanted to have their say of course so barely caught the flight when it all was finally done.
Upon arrival in Bkk I approached the Orient Thai office and made a formal complaint, after which I've heard nothing.
I guess I'll go back to Bangkok Air or Thai because I can't bothered with @rsehole buisness antics.
Don't get me wrong, 1000Thb is nothing and I would have gladly paid that when I bought the ticket but to have the cheek to force customers to pay more after they bought an item is unbelivable...
Doubt I'll bother with them again, if I wasn't such a lazy bugger I'd see how much load their servers can handle

Just received an email from 12go in which they say they will pay me back the 1000baht, remains to be seen of course and I really didn't expect this outcome
Don't get me wrong, 1000 baht is still monopoly money and I can do just fine without, however I do not like to be screwed....at least not in that way

I'll be in Hkt this July. I want to book my ticket w/Orient, but for some reason the online website is only allowing reservations up until June. It was like this for the past couple months. In fact, it still has their Jan 07 dates still in the drop down reservation box. I thought by now it would have moved its reservation calander to include July. It doesn't make sense since they were including June for the past couple months (allowing reservations to be made at least 5 months in advance). Anyone know whats up with this?

Think, they move in quarters (3 month period). I noticed the same in February, when i wanted to book a flight in April. Had to wait until March, i think. So the best guess is, that the flights from July till September will be open beginning of June.
But please remember, that 1-2-go is now running from DMK. airasia is the only one leaving from the new airport.

.....and you have to ask yourself, do you really want to book with an airline that is this much of a hassle before you even buy your ticket?
Both Airasia and Nok can be booked online through September.

Thanks for the replies Gregor200 & Mr. Lucky. As I have a hard time being patient, I probably won't be able to wait until June to book my flight with 1-2-Go. I've never had any problems with Orient in the past and have been quite satisfied with their service. I've flown Thai and Air Asia on previous trips. Thai is too expensive, but I loved the business class experience. I've flown twice with Air Asia and did not think it was as good as 1-2-Go. I haven't heard any complaints about Nok, so I guess I'll try that option. Thanks again.

I just walk up to the 1-2-go counter at any Thai airport and the buy the appropiate ticket there & then. Last time I had a bicycle in a cardboard box & two pieces of baggage .... was not charged any extra at all !!
1700 baht is good value, lift off ten minutes late is ok by me .... and I do like the little nut thingo's they serve with the shitty coffee.
