Orient Thai 1 2 go

What a crappy service...

Ordered and paid online the 24th of Oct, got the E-ticket and everything ok.
Had tickets from Bkk to Phuket on Nov 29th with return Dec 4th, checked in and everything went smooth when we went to Phuket.

The flight back was another matter, approached check in desk in Phuket and gave the girl the tickets for me and the missus.

Sorry but it is peak period she said, you need to pay additionally 500Thb per ticket.

Discussion was fruitless, so stumbled over to the booth where we were supposed to pay.

I wasn't the only one there and all wanted to have their say of course so barely caught the flight when it all was finally done.

Upon arrival in Bkk I approached the Orient Thai office and made a formal complaint, after which I've heard nothing.

I guess I'll go back to Bangkok Air or Thai because I can't bothered with @rsehole buisness antics.

Don't get me wrong, 1000Thb is nothing and I would have gladly paid that when I bought the ticket but to have the cheek to force customers to pay more after they bought an item is unbelivable...

Doubt I'll bother with them again, if I wasn't such a lazy bugger I'd see how much load their servers can handle

Can't see that the airline was at fault , it's a case of reading the small print (terms and conditions).

One-Two-Go reserves the rights to any change to the above fares and conditions without prior notice.

Yes and I've read that, however I don't see much difference between Nov 29th and Dec 4th, especially since the flight was only 2/3 full.

Now if peak period is set by a specific date, one would assume upon booking directly through their online booking system, the system would know that and display the right price.

So in that case I suspect the company screwed up and then to make customers liable is bad form IMHO.

Yes , you're probably right , just another case of "Low Cost is not all it's advertised to be ".

Just need to make another statement

I just made a post and ppl can make up their own mind if they want to use such a service or not.

But therein lies the consumers powers, ppl can avoid companies that do buisness in unethical manors once they are informed.

And as with me, only a small percentage reads the small print (unless your going in big) and would assume a airline company is a serious company which conforms to their buisness standards.

Clearly it does not, but hey, thats their perogative as it is mine to warn ppl about what might happen..

Funnily enough this has never happened to me before, at least not once tickets are paid and issued, another thing is with reservations which is and can be subject to changes in most airlines

Hmm, looking forward to travel with One-Two-GO on Monday 18 Dec from Bangkok to Phuket.

Ordered the ticket online using Internet, cost 1700 baht, expect I will be asked to pay 500 baht extra in Bangkok, that's 2200 baht total, still low price related to Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways flying the same distance.

Just be sure to be there in good time as it might be a lot of people trying to pay the extra 500 and only one slow girl working the computer

Hey, maybe they be out of business????

Walk, or hitchhike...maybe make Phuket, during low season.

You just can't count on these, "low cost" outfits!

(no refunds, no claims, no good)

With the "high season" add on...you're still only talking about a 1200thb difference...between, uncertainty , and a sure thing!

I will be landing in Bangkok 18 Dec at 10:55 and have departure to Phuket at 14:35, should be enough time, handling in the new airport was very fast when I was out there in Oct/Nov.

As the 500 baht extra during peak and holiday period I can't read anything about that on One-Two-Go Airlines

It's a bit odd that the "Peak Fare" page only shows up till end of October , guess they'll make up their minds when they see how busy flights are.

I fly up and down from Bangkok about 25 times a year, I always fly with Thai, it might cost a bit more but sometimes you can get a deal, like if you fly mid week or after 8pm it is 15% cheaper. Also/ or if your onward flight is with Thai the Phuket Bangkok sector is 20% discount.

One of the reasons (I have about Five) I alway fly with Thai is because they have about 10 flights a day, so if anything screws up they put you on the next flight. So you don't miss your connection, or they will put you in a hotel overnight in Bangkok, (It is the Amari 1 hour from the airport,Not the Novotel near the airport, but that is another gripe) Or they will put you on another carrier.

With the low cost carriers you are just left in the S**T.

On the 5th December in Bangkok I saw Bangkok Air flight Turbo Prop coming in on One engine!

Flew to and from Bangers last week with 12go and wasn't charged any extra for high season, 1700 bht each way, both flights were delayed 30 minutes, sort of expect that with the low cost boys. Perhaps I wasn't charged because I bought my ticket in Thailand??? bought first journey in Phuket second one in BKK so not same outlet or anything.

Seems to be quite a few options available now I guess Thai are the most reliable if you have a deadline to meet.

I met the pres of One-Two-Go around the time they started up, and I liked the guy. That said, I'd never fly them. They're operating the oldest aircraft of any Thai airline. Older than Phuket Air's, and that's saying something.

If I'm not on a real tight schedule I'll always take a low-cost flight though. Of the others, I prefer Nok Air (operated by Thai Airways), or AirAsia if I can't get on Nok. The reason being that AirAsia has that awful free-seating system that means a scrum at the boarding gate. With Nok you can select your seat online after you book your ticket.
