CC Blooms Hotel
Hello, I am mentioning this as to my experience with CC Blooms:
Last January my wife and I reserved a Poolside Room for an extended three month stay. We agreed on a rate per month of 32,000 Baht / month. This was to be for Jan - March, 2007 and received a confirmation. In July / August of this past year I was once again in touch with CC Blooms by e-mail, and was assured by another confirmation that our Poolside Room was booked for our stay. As on this forum had heard rumours that in was in fiancial trouble.
In September I received the glorious news from the new manager "Ken" that he would honor our confirmation if we were willing to pay 105,000 Baht / month for the Poolside Room. About triple the previously agreed upon rate and confirmed. We declined and cancelled. The hotel looks wonderful on the website, and I am sure it is. But as we found out " Buyer Beware" !

Hey folks, good to be warned!
I booked there second half of January, with the misses.
What I know ; the original booking guy, is not there anymore. Forgot his name. When I inquired a month ago, they did not know anything about my reservation! I confirmed this in July, with a creditcard!
Not only had I to do this again, but prices were much higher. As I insisted, got a better price.
Now I have driven by, and it is operational. But it was weird I got the so called best room a month before in peak season....
But, I am thinking of cancelling, after this post. I am staying at Full moon, and going to do a seperate post about it. CC is on a hill, difficult to climb, even with a motorbike. No internet and shops, to be seen, and you always have to cross that busy patrak road to Phuket town, to get somewhere...

internet wireless throughout the compound, crossing the road is easy if you are not to stiff in the bones (or stiff in a bone and in a hurry ofcourse). And you want to go to the beach, just tell them and the car will bring you (they even give you a phone to call them to pick you up again) same goes in the evening to get some food somewhere.
But agree it is a steep hill indeed.
I am more worried about the sounds that Skip skipped out and there is a new owner, and the new guys attitude. Might be that it is just the new manager. Will see if I have skips email addy on file somewhere to ask for more clearance on this. It is a great spot to be with a great view, but they have to do fair business.

Indeed, could be only new manager or reservation officer. Same one as above.
Before it was Sean Lee, who did this. Then you have to see, if only the rates changed...

Regarding CC Blooms
I am the original poster. From my knowledge. I heard through research that the place was having fiancial issues. It was sold to a Thai businessman, name unknown. This I believe happened this past summer. Skip is gone, where I do not know. Sean is still there. It was Skip I dealt with for my 3 month stay feb. 2006. The new managers name is Kenneth Miller, he is the one who wanted to triple my rate. If you check there website there rates all around have gone up dramatically. Whether a business is sold or not you have to honor past confirmations at the agreed upon rates. I feel when you
buy a business you assume the good and the bad.
Former marathon runner, surfer, skier, mountain climber, traveller, supporter of the Tibetan cause, parent, husband, and now dying of ALS, my wife and I are on my last tour of SE Asia for 3 1/2 months. I hope all can experience the wonderful people in this part of the world, as I have over the years !

Sorry to hear about all this. As I am not English do not know your disease.
If you come to a point, when you know not much time is left, you are very coureagous to do this last trip. I wish all the best for you, from the bottom of my heart.
Where have you booked instead? The cc's bloom is not far away from where I am now, and I willing to discuss this issue with them!

Regarding Tin Tin
Hello, We basicallly had to reschedule our trip. We didn't find out till mid Sept. about the rate change. So we are now spending time in different location in SE Asia. Presently inManila in transit and heading to Chiang Rai, take a boat down the Mekong to Luang Prabang. Then on Phi Phi, Vietnam, Bali, etc....... Will be in Karon area Jan. 8 - 12th.
Thanks for the nice note on my disease. Basically my motor nerves are slowly dying which then affects your muscles becoming weaker. There is no medicine or cure. Eventually you die, average life after diagnosis is 2 - 5 years. I was diagnosed in May, 2005. The technical name is amyotropic lateral sclerlosis, and is world wide with about 35,000 in USA at a given time.
I give you permission to talk to CC Blooms. Sean has been wonderful, please tell him that. Ken is the one I have a gripe with, and I am not on his good side at this point. I told him that as I use different traval forum websites to plan my travels, I was going to post my experience with him and CC Blooms. That I would be honest and truthful of the facts. I also told him that I would also notify him of these postings so he could always respond to my post. He did not like that idea. Matter of fact he signed up or a surrogate on a different travel forum and sent me two different private messages that were very ugly. The forum administrator took him off after seeing these. Of course he can always sign up again with a different name. The messages were of a threatening nature if I did not remove my post within 48 hours. I laughed to myself that a manager of any hotel would resort to that kind of talk. I wonder if the owner even knows about this.
Let me know if you stop up there. I have never been there but it looks wonderful, and Skip at least on e-mail seemed like a great person!

I am almost sure that Sean does not work there anymore. That is what they told me.
As for your experiences with skip, if he knows about your condition, he is a bad person! I am happy in full moon, but would not advice it as a 'special last trip'. Very nice bi bungalows, but a bit too casual for this purpose.
I have cancelled cc blooms, I hope they will not use my credit-card, and charge me. I think that it is better to forget this and go on and think about positive things.
Amyway, I hope you can enjoy the remaining time and do as much as you can. I pray for a miracle somewhere for you!
All the best

It seems Skip is gone. That Ken fellow seems not to know how to run a resort. Their price was what they had going for them. Guess all they have left with high prices is that they are Gay orientated which maybe they want to exploit more and not want straight couples anymore.
Who knows. Maybe that is what they want. Some just like negative publicity. Will do a range of articles on Kata, Karon and on Patong in March so will bring them a visit and see what I will write.
Might not be as positive as the 2005 article

To Tin tin and Eric
Hi, I should mention that back in January, 2006 I told Skip about my condition. Skip by email was wonderful, and Sean also. I guess the new manager perhaps does not no how to run a resort. The new manager mentioned to me that the place was to continue in the same venue, straight and gay. He mentioned that about 40 % were gay guests.
In a different venue, does either of you know of a good dentist, hopefully speaks some english in the Karon area ? I may need his services.
All the best for the New Year !
Craig
