Nah, those tears have dried. I reckon if a guy gets the offer of a cheap flight, one day late returning won't make too much difference

To right...
I'm pleased your looking after a fellow Welshman...
And yes £100 saved for extra day of hols......no contest really
I'll help too...Dazza the national express bust to Gatwick leaves Newport at 2.00am or 5.00am approx...when I looked at this flight I thought the 5.00am bus was just a bit too tight a schedule.

Just saw the £335 price myself and yeah there is tax on top for £438 total. You can get the exactly same price as early as Jan 10th though No such ****ing luck last year...
I'm wondering actually if the prices won't drop further nearer the time, sites are advertising May rates as the same but I know you can get cheaper come the month. If there are still seats left now for early Jan at the lowest price those ones in late March aren't going anywhere fast.

Sorry , I'm not a Travel Agent .
If you take a little bit of time and use that wonderful thing called "Google" you will find thousands of sites that you can use.

The stopovers are pretty short
Qatar is about 45mins in Doha, your luggage is transferred for you to the BKK plane.
Etihad is around 40mins stopover in Abu Dhabi and same again with bags.
Just time to stretch the legs, get some duty free, have a smoke or a coffee and back onboard again.
Breaks the flight up nicely into 2x 6.5hr flights too.
Returning, the stops are a little longer but again nice to get off and walk around a bit. Up to you what you choose, but Id always go for the cheaper stop over option.

Qatar stopover on the way UK-BKK is very tight. The timetable has about 45 mins but if your plane runs late at all (even if its on time!) you have to get off the aircraft, go through the transfer queue and then onto the next aircraft.
When we went through a few weeks back, the plane was running 20 mins late and the transfer queue was about 45 minutes to clear! Luckily we had got off at the wrong terminal (we were Business class) and managed to get someone to take us to the new First/Business terminal and got straight through and out to the next aircraft.
We waited 30 mins beyond our takeoff time but they still had to offload some peoples bags that didnt make the connection.
Another benefit of Qatar Business class!

I had a similar experience in cattle class with Etihad . The flight was an hour late taking off from Gatwick, and we landed instead of 50mins before connecting flight, but only 20mins. The flight was held for the many people transferring to the BKK flight, and all luggage was transferred too.
I know what you are saying though, if the transfer time is tight, don't be surprised if you miss a connection because of delays.

With the meter taxi it was either 320 or 380 baht to Patong about 3 weeks ago.(memories going!). As you leave the terminal building, turn right, walk past all of the taxi touts to a small booth. All taxi prices are posted there, depending on how busy you will get a ticket with your number in the queue.
I think the above price also included their 50 baht charge the taxi has to pay to be allowed to pick up at the airport.

Depends which airline you wish to use. The search function here is pretty good to help you find all this out, but as its Xmas I'll do it for you .
Thai Airways around 6600baht return
Bangkok Airways :: Asia Air Travel, Airlines, Flights, Samui Thailand 5200 approx return
Welcome to AirAsia.com...now everyone can fly... varies with offers all the time. Much cheaper than above but not so reliable if you have to make a connection.
Welcome to NokAir.com -Low fares airline another LCC
One-Two-Go by Orient Thai Airlines another LCC

I've just booked Emirates from Mcr to Bangkok, dep Apr 4 ret Apr 18, total cost £550. Slightly different dates and places I know, just to give you some idea anyway. I just need to get from BKK to Phuket now, and thanks to Dawsey I have all the info I need about that leg of my journey.
