Nokair, on time?
I will fly the 3 rd of January to Siem Raep. I first have a Nokair flight to BKK.
Are they reliable? I know Asia-air is not. I can do 2 things:
Keep my 2 nd januari flight from Phuket. Stay in BKK one night and leave next ay to SR.
I can take a flight the same day, but then I hope there is no absurd delay in flights.....

Used Nok Air a few times and they have to date always been on time, unlike 12Go who appear to always be delayed, dropped a friend off at the airport toinght looked at flight info and guess what, good old 12Go delayed again for 1 hour.
Who are you flying to Siem Reap with, if its BKK air then there are a few flights per day if Siem Reap Airways there is only two or three so a delay if things are tight could mean a missed flight.

I flew Nok Air from BKK - PHK return recently. I thought they were great. The plane was comfortable and roomier than AA in my recollection. I flew economy class from BKK - PHK and 'Nok Plus' on the way back.
The BKK - PHK flight left right on time. Coming back, all flights from PHK airport were delayed by an hour because a large thunderstorm rolled in, causing delays for all airlines.
Check-in was efficient. In contrast, right next to us was the line for AA for a flight leaving about the same time, and it was very long.
The one thing that Nok Air needs to fix AS SOON AS POSSIBLE is their online booking system.

I fly Nok a lot - several times this year anyway, and they've only been late once. On the HKT-BKK flight of course!
The announcement said we'd be needing a new plane and it would be 3 hours. I was pressed for time so I told the Nok staff I wouldn't be flying with them that day, and took the next flight out, which was Bangkok Airways.
When I went for my return flight to Phuket, I stopped by the Nok office at BKK airport and they were very nice about refunding my airfare.
However, while this worked fine and I made my connection, flights on Jan 3 will be very full - you might not be able to switch like I did. If you're really worried and not hurting for cash, you might consider flying Bangkok Airways on both legs of your journey - they have a private lounge at HKT (BKK too I think).

I read on a post a while ago that the online booking system would not let you use a credit card from a different country. Is this still the case???
When I tried booking online it asked what country and even had the name of the bank the credit card is from. Right at the end it just said unable to process. Do you still have to fax/email them a copy of your credit card, CVC number etc????
Many Thanks.

I booked in October, and I had to do this.
It is a pain in the bum, and as I said before, they need to fix this ASAP or risk losing a lot of prospective customers.

They're still doing that, eh? This is a major flaw in their marketing plan. Thailand still only has about 8.2million internet users - they probably don't realize how many travellers worldwide are now making their bookings from home.

I just had a quick look at the Nok Air website and it looks like they may have finally resolved their online booking problems (just in the past couple of weeks)
http://www.nokair.com/s1000_obj/fron...content_id=680
When you choose your flights, there is a new drop-down box where you choose your CC type, country of residence, issuing bank etc.
Only one way test it...maybe I should book myself a flight

I think if anyone is worried about and has to ask about connecting from a real airline to a low cost airline, then perhaps they should pay the price and travel with a real airline all the way. This question is being asked all too much lately.

I do agree with you Steve. Its only natural that these LCCs don't have the resources to catch up if there are problems with any flights. I can also understand travellers fears of not making an international connection by a LCC airline delay.
I put myself in that category on my return, but I had to weigh up the choice of paying an extra 23,000baht and using Thai Air,[6#pax] or taking the chance of Air Asia being on time. Risky I know, but hell, there are worse places in the world to be stuck at than Bangkok overnight
If anything goes wrong, I only have myself to blame, apart from AirAsia, as its up to me in the end

Do not agree on this. Nok air is not so familiar to most BM's as Air Asia. This company fools around with their scedule, on a way that is bejond imagination.
Flights delayed, cancelled and so on.
The feedback, of Nokair, except their booking-system, seems far more positive.
So if you got 3 -4 hours between 2 flights, it seems possible.

Actually, Friday before Christmas I booked the Nok Air flight to Udon Thani and I got it fixed in about 10 minutes including seat selction. It went all pretty smooth. No complaints. To book the AMS-BKK flight with China Airlines took me more time.
ANyway I got my flight confirmed as I wanted and in reasonable time, so I am not complaining...
