Cambodia

Just looking into possibilities for my next trip and my buddy is talking about a side trip to Cambodia. Does anyone know what the options are for getting there? As in do you have to fly from Bangkok, or is Phuket/Udon an option?

I wrote a thread on my trip this year steve. You have to fly via BKK, best price from Bangers was Siem Reap Airlines (part of Bkk Air). Cheap as chips when you get there and the best visa run trip I have done all year, Majortom and Yahooka went shortly after me and we often keep ourselves warm on cold evenings here round the bar with Cambo stories.

Gday Steve.

Last February I had a quick side trip to Cambodia, and fall in love with the place, I flew to phnom phen from BKK, stayed a couple of nights, had a look around, then took the ferry from PP up the river and across the lake to seam reap (us$20 and 4 hours) it was one of the best days I’ve ever had in Asia, great boat trip, very scenic, stayed in seam reap for 2 days, had a look at ankor wat which was impressive, form there caught a taxi to the Thai border….wow what a ride…then train to chatsanseo and then a taxi on to pattaya, it was a big day, but to avoid all that travel you can just get a plane from seam reap to BKK.
There is so many options, just a matter of how long you want to stay, and what you want to see.

Cheers barflyrex

Thanks for replies guys. Sorry I missed your thread Dodger , but it looks like Cambodia is a good idea.

I'm particularly interested in Angkor Wat, I feel like it's someting I have to get some pictures of. Pnom Penh sounds cool as well, and if you can fit both into four days that would be great.
