Diving liveaboards - Phuket
Hi,
I've searched the forums and found nothing recent of Diving liveaboards. I've been on mermaid 1 and 2 and both good, but I have always come with a group of mates. I thinking of coming over soon on my own and want to know which 1's are good / bad or indifferent.

I went with Scubacat and found their liveaboard very comfortable, the chef at that time was absolutely brilliant and his food was out of this world.
On your own, you will just need to chat to a few people during the night and I am sure you will have a whole load of new mates to go diving with the following day (and I'm not referring to bg's).

Depends on your price range.
Most of the live aboard companies are still in business.
For medium range West Coast Divers run a tight ship.Their owner Milton from NZ usually accompanies each trip.

South Siam Divers
I will be in Thailand for the first time in March and have reservations with South Siam Divers. I will be on the South Siam 3 at the Similan islands.
South Siam Divers Boats The reason I picked them was they run live-a-boards in some of the most populars sites in Phuket. They have live-a-boards that stay at the sites and you are fairyied from and to your hotel via buses and speed boats. This allows some stays to be as short as 3 days. Good luck in your choice.

somboon3 with South Siam is actually a very good one if you are short of time...........only company I know that you can get to Sims and Surin islands
(Richilkieu Rock) on a 3 day liveaboard...... accom and food are very good..........share with another in a room.....takes about 40 people all up......so not too crowded.........but it's not a boutique boat like Chris is describing above in Ocean Rover or Philkade......
