KN Guesthouse location info pls

Is this hotel in soi jintana, if so can anyone tell me anything about the 'short cut' to the beach, ie is is ok to use late at night on the way back or is it some dodgy dimly lit alleyway. How far is it (time and distance) walking to the beach and Bangla. To get to Bangla, would we go back onto Rat u thit, or to the beach and along beach road and up, which is the quickest and shortest route. Any further info on the hotel apart from whats already on here would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Hoof,

I stayed at Jintana and walked past K & N every day. I would walk out to Rat U Thit, turn right and walk 10 minutes at most to Bangla.

Never walked from there to the beach, instead would walk to Sawadirak and down from there.

Dawsey stayed at Jintana before I did and used to walk to beach and Soi Eric from there but I think the access to Soi Eric is closed now.

Hi Hoof

The shortcut you mention I would not try at night. If you face the Jintana Hotel by the gate, you will see a narrow path on your right. Follow that, past the back of where some local Thais are living it comes out through Sailor Bar on the Beach Rd. It takes about 5mins max from hotel to beach, its around 500yds Id guess.
But TBH you wouldn't do it at nightime. Too dark and I fancy plenty of vermin scurrying about
Its probably quicker to go that route to Bangla and along the beach rd, but after dark its Rat u Thit Rd for me every time. Only a couple of minutes longer

.
K&N is in Soi Jintana and its website is now up and running

KN Guest House, perfect comfort and location, Phuket Island

I can let you know more about the hotel after my first visit there in March/April

Edit Never was a route to Soi Eric, that was allegedly from Patong Villa, but I never found it 5555

i sometime use to park my bike down the shortcut, very handy, for parkin, access to the beach and to the bars......given the shortcut leads out to a small bar soi(soi dontal)its well lit.
i think youd have to know or be shown the shortcut to use it,as it goes in between a couple of BG/locals accomadations.
maybe suss it during the day, cant see it being a problem at night maself, actually could end up fine, spotted a few stragglers down that way late at night

I managed to nearly knock myself out cold going though the first archway into the Thai accomodationThat bl00dy arch is built for dwarfs going underneath. If you are going to try that route, go by daylight first time.

Cool

I have done the short cut to the Beach Road a couple of times and managed to get lost the first time

It's worth it if you are heading off to the beach for the day, it does cut a bit off your journey time if you walk around, but only if you head off up towards Bangla Road once you hit Beach Road. If you get to Beach Road and turn right, then you might as well use Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road and turn left at the lights where the school is.

I haven't done the short cut at night and I agree with the earlier comments about not doing it - it's not a straight path and you could end up in some local's room quite easily !!
