Bkk-->Phuket, do i need to book from home?

I am not sure what airport i am flying to since they are opening the old one and also i am not 100% sure what time i will arrive so i do not want to make a reservation in advance. (BKK---->Phuket)

Do you guys know if i can just show up in late April and expect to be able to get on the next flight to Phuket? I would like to get one of the cheap flights like Air Asia. I flew with BKK Airways last time and it was good but 8 times more expensive....

No one can give a 100% sure answer i am sure, but any info is appreciated!

cu in april!

There are so many flights to Phuket everyday, if you land in the morning then you have a great chance. But you might have to wait all day or upgrade to buisness class (about 1000Bt more) Check it out on Thai Airways

Thai air have themost frequent and reliable service. the cheaper airlines are often significatly delayed and not infrequently cancelled. Thai very very rarley cancel a flight on this route practically never. You can call your local Thai office and make a booking and even pay with your credit card. You get an E ticket. Very flexible.

I would check availablity 1 month before on line then 1 week before and book then if it looked busy. if you wait until just a day or two before you can book and then pay for your ticket at bangkok. Or if you go through a travel agent then they can make abooking for you and you can pay just before you travel.

I usually do this, worst case is around 4k baht Thai business class, otherwise from around 1700with the cheap airlines. Never not managed the next flight and late april should be ok - wherever the airport is.

I'm quite sure that all international arrivals will be at the NEW airport.

If the old airport reopens, it will be for domestic flights. And mostly, the low fare carrier's.

Therefore, budget in around 1000baht, for taxi each way. To and From the (international) new airport.

Otherwise, Thai Airways ($$$$) will be operating from (new aiport), to Phuket.
