A GF room with a legit Seaview

Just some help folks please.

I am looking for a good room with a view of the bay, for around 10-12 days during last 2 weeks of April.

I have previously stayed at, and emailed the formally named Riviera. come Tawan beach resort with no result.

Pity it has a terrific address.

After my third reading of the BM's reviews I am starting warming too Salathai.

They quote that all the rooms have a sea view.

I have two questions.

1: Does anyone have any idea wtf is going on with the recently re-named Tawan Beach Resort?

Has it still a pulse?

2: Can anyone confirm for me, that if I chose to stay at Salathai I can actually see Patong's fourth best asset? The Bay.

Salathai is in Soi Sawatdirak. How can they have seaview?

Hi,I've stayed at the Salathai the last two years.Definately not a sea view.Perhaps they meant pool view??It's a horseshoe shaped collection of buildings so everybody sees the pool.Short walk to the beach.

It is a nice hotel though with a good restaurant and very friendly staff.Also girl friendly.Any more Salathai questions just ask.

I too fancied Tawan. See my other thread on it. No responses to lots of e-mails, phoned several times but no one spoke good english, pity cos like you say, top location, if you get anywhere let me know.

I have also stayed at the Salathai for last 2 trips and will be back shortly for a 3rd time so I obviously like the place. I can confirm there is no seaview. The balconies all face the pool. It is a nice mid range hotel, girl friendly and well run. Only 40 rooms or so. 5 minutes walk to Bangla Road and 2 minutes walk to the beach. The pool and pool area are good for a small hotel. Decent restaurant plus Wi-Fi. 2 minute walk to a choice of 3 or 4 massage shops and 3 minutes walk to a Subway (I luv Thai food but sometimes I just want a nice fresh sandwhich to take to my room). You could do worse than the Salathai.
