Etihad from Dublin
Spotted this in the "Sunday Times" , could be another option for Irish B.M's.

Etihad is to launch a nonstop flight from Dublin to Abu Dhabi from August 3rd.The service will operate four times a week; fares have yet to be announced.
|
If prices are O.K and connection times (Abu Dhabi - Bangkok) are reasonable then this may be a good choice to avoid Heathrow.

Wow thats steep, 1250
Much cheaper from Dublin...
I am paying 900 for June but depending on dates at Xmas can get from 1000 - 1100..
Btw.. Has Heathrow got even worse since the restrictions or has it settled down since then, How much different will it be now than it was then, Bearing in mind that I will be only in transit through Heathrow for 2hrs or so, Would I be better off flying through Paris for the same price??? And if so whats the Paris airport like???

Jonny,
Besides the China Airlines one, did you try either EVA or KLM? I don't know which airline you fly with out of Cork, but maybe with one of those you gives you a better chance?
KLM usually arrives in AMS early in the morning around 05.45, SQ at 06.25, CI at 09.00 and EVA at 09.35.
You may also try Cathay Pacific. They fly AMS-HKG-BKK or AMS-HKG-HKT.
Departure from AMS at 13.15
Arriving in AMS at 06.35
Just check out this link Cathay Pacific - Online boeken : Dienstregeling although in Dutch, you may be able to work it out and for sure you find this on an English page as well. Should you need further info, let me know.

Paris Airport (Charles De Gaulle) is horrible, Like a big metal warehouse. Not as busy as LHR but they are great at losing your luggage. Happened to me, two other mates on other trips and I've heard similar elsewhere. My tip.......avoid

Thats great connection times for AUH -BKK with Etihad.
Departs AUH around 21 45.
Return trip arrives AUH around 12.30AM iirc.
Worth booking Dublin - BKK return.
