Same management as Thara Patong so yes , a fee for guests. Lovely hotel, had a look round in 05 but too far from Bangla for me. I'm lazy

Roger, what you saw was the timeshare side of things, which is a different standard from the hotel. The only connection with Thara Patong is that Absolute were renting sales offices from them, following the Tsunami.
I believe the joiners fee now is closer to 1500-2000 baht.
Sites OK - its not too far to Bangla. There are some nice bars just across the road - if you dont want to venture to Bangla, and the beach is on your doorstep. There is a new F&B manager there now - recruited from Burasarri.
I stay there all the time.

I did get to see some of the hotel too Luke. Not just the timeshare rooms. I stand corrected about the management. Still seemed a long walk to Bangla to me, but Geirs old bar Darkside was pretty close for a beer.
I take it you don't stay at Club Andaman suites anymore?

No, I had a lot of problems with getting the units when I wanted them - like when you stayed; so I transferred to Club Absolute when they opened - they have more units, so better availability.
