Good snorkelling off shore + Decent nightlife in one place??
I'm taking a buddy of mine on his first trip to LOS. He is very keen on finding a chilled out place where we can do some decent snorkelling (corals and fishes) just off the shore (without having to do a day trip on a boat), but I want to be somewhere where we can get to some nightlife of some sort without going on too long of an expedition.
Does anyone know of a particular island that might offer such a combination? The closest I'm aware of is Ko Tao, but I'd prefer a bit more nightlife than that. Ideally, somewhere on Phuket or Samui, but is there any decent snorkelling offshore anywhere?? Thanks to anyone that could help me out!

Decent enough off Kata, N Kamala, Ao Sane, or other rocky areas.. Really really good if you take a boat over to coral Island (its 10 - 15 mins not a lot of effort) or Raja or around there..

As Lil sayes I would stay in or near Patong and snorkel at Kamala, Laem Sing, Nai whatever a bit up from laguna, always try to say Nai Harn but know that is down south near Rawaii, anyway Nai upnorthabit. Cannot think of a good island with decent nightlife and good snorkling, anyway sort your priorities, great nightlife pretty good snorkling - Patong or in reverse, if your looking for reverse why bother to go to Phuket????

I did some snorkling on Kata, Karon and Kata Noi.
The south end of Karon was actually my favorite of these three spots. Lots of fishes. But you should go to Phi Phi for a day. Snorkling at Maya Bay (even if it's just for 30 minutes when you do the speed boat tour) is amazing. Khai Nok Island, on the same tour, is also good.

yep PP has good snorkelling........go on the ferry and hire a longtail for the day.........easily doable and well worth it!!

At night there were some great parties. Was there just after full moon and a couple of top Ibiza djs were doing parties. 3 days and nights was enough.
