It's an absolute eye opener to see how much some of you blokes get stressed out about air fares
I bet it's a massive weight off your shoulders once you finally bite the bullet and part with the cash, then you go through agony in the following weeks looking on the internet to see if you could have got a better deal some where else
No Wonder You're Ready For A Holiday

No-one is stressed that I know of.

I just like to make sure that I get a convenient flight for when I go on holiday (which happens to be peak season). Why pay more for something if you don't have to??????

Just had 12 days back in UK using Etihad both ways. Arrived back this morning into BKK 0540...50 minutes ahead of schedule! Maybe the new 777s being used on the route are quicker than the A340 Airbuses used before.

Very busy both ways on the BKK-AUH sectors but less than 50 people on the AUH-LGW and return legs

IJ, Etihad are flying from Dublin to Abu Dhabi from August. Maybe connection on to BKK will be good for you.

Just booked it from Manchester on the 10 AM flight Dec 23rd - Jan 1st evening flight, would have liked to stay until the weekend but the flights were fuller then and more expensive.

It means a night in a hotel in Manchester the night before but I dont like the trek accross London and the longer train journey back home on my arrival back in the UK.

I've opted for Buisness class at £1,340, Xmas present to myself.

Just booked with Ethiad IJ and on the website it says they are now doing a service from Dublin - Abu Dhabi.

Sorry just checked the service starts in August. But you should be looking at similar prices from the UK to Bkk.

Etihad Airways: Etihad to launch flights to Dublin in August

Looks like Ethiad are getting more popular their Cheapest pearl class Manchester or Heathrow to Bkk has just gone up £300 from £1340 to £1640 and there not many flights available at those prices on a lot of dates the price goes over £2000.

Cheapest Coral class is £464.

can still be gotten cheaper, but you have to wait for the last weeks. 464 is the new base price due to the UK tax adding, used to be 424 approximatelly

Etihad today are offering flights in Late Sept, Oct and Nov from London to BKK for £439 inc taxes. A bargain I reckon.

Special Offers

Not if you compare that price to the one westeasttravel were offering a couple of days ago with Thai Air

OK, its not direct, but I like Etihad, and that price seems pretty good compared to the others on display with most other airlines. IIRC even Qatar is dearer.

Solly Lodger, Sirgezza was trying to be funny. I just got a Etihad flight for £4 cheaper than what you had posted (from Manc.). I flew with them last time and was impressed. IJ posted some horror stories about Emirates, so I avoided them.

Cheaper airlines are Turkish and Jordanian - enough said.

Going with Qatar in January and they are slightly dearer but I prefer the departure time.

BA?? when do you want your luggage back??5555

I'm only 1hr and 15 mins from Manchester airport, so a stopover in the middle east is acceptable, rather than a shuttle flight (and wait) in Heathrow. No direct flights from Manchester to BKK.

One change is enough for anyone 5555555555

Fly out on 26th August, probably do Patts for a few days and then go to Patong. It's a four week break as I have a load of leave untaken during the summer due to the poor weather. I'm looking forward to being in Patong during the low season.

Johnny have you tried BA courier flights service, with you as the courier, if you leave it late or go at unpopular times the price drops to around £300.
