Ferry to Phi Phi & Longboat to Maya vs Pre-arranged Tour

Hi,

I'd just like some advice on whether its cheaper to book a tour to take me to Phi Phi Island and Maya Bay for snorkelling and a walk around Phi Phi island (although it seems many of the operators dont allow time for this), or whether its cheaper to buy my own ferry tickets in Phuket and Phi Phi and pay for a longtail boat to take me to Maya?

Any advice on where to buy ferry tickets in Phuket beforehand etc would be greatly appreciated!

get the ferry and hire longtail can then go where u like an maybe avoid the tour groups.
