This has happened to my GF a few times because her 6 syllable Thai name is well long. Even up to 3 letter wrong still ok. One letter wrong will certainly be ok, as long as it has you correct Gender. First name is not so critical as surname. It only puts your intial on the Boarding pass. If your name is completely wrong like Mark instead of Micheal you have to get it changed if it is Mrak instead of Mark should be ok. Change it if you have time. If your agent starts telling you never mind etc, call the airline right in the shop and check, and remeber to write down the names of anyone you speak to about this along with Time and Date.

If the name on your ticket doesn't match that of your passport, be prepared to be refused on the flight. Clearly, change the ticket now without delay.

Since your first name sounds as though it could be your second name , it would definately cause problems.

As you've got enough time , go and make them sort it out.

My name in my passport never matches the name on my ticket. In Danish my last name contains the letter "Ø" which I converted to "OE" when I moved to the US. 20% of the times I am questioned about it (usually US authorities). I had the English spelling added to the passport, but it is not apparent so I have to point it out. That leaves 80% of the cases where they do not pay attention to the discrepancy.

I do not advocate traveling with incorrect documentation, as it can result in denied boarding, just that they don't always pay attention.

Just make sure that your passport is valid for 6 month at the time you enter Thailand.
