What Site do You Use?
Hi!!!
Just wondering what websites everyone uses (or knows of) when booking accommodation in Phuket?
Stupid me (refer to hair colour in photo) found the Banthai Resort for $101AUD on some website and printed off a table of the costings but didn't write the bloody website site down!!!!
Everyone else seems to be around the $170+ mark for the room i'm after.
Any help would be great. (Yep, have already emailed the resort as well but they quoted $222!!!!!!!!!!)
Cheers,
Mizz

On the top of this page is a link to "Thailand Hotels". You may find what you are looking for there. Otherwise, if you get a recommendation for a specific hotel you can use their own site (if they have one).
What type of room are you after ... perhaps you can get some specific recommendations.

I'm finding that the hotels are better to deal with direct, never used a third party website. Why not go back to the hotel and tell them what you have been quoted elsewhere?

How much did that cost? The regular rate if you deal direct is around 1100baht.

Mr DK - I'm after a Superior Pool access room.
Will email the hotel and tell them our quoted price.
In the mean time wouldn't hurt to still let me know what sites you all know of as I can then still book online if I have no luck with the hote direct.
Cheers,
Mizz

I always deal direct with the hotel. Using 3rd party, well most of the time problems will come up.
If you need last minute accomodation, then you can use Phuket hotels, Thailand - Late Booking Offers , have not used it, but heard many good reviews bout the site.
Cheers.

Try this out, if you'd like.
Banthai Beach Resort & Spa Phuket - Special Internet Rates - Banthai Beach Resort & Spa Phuket Thailand
Marc 26, had some quite negative points, regarding his last stay at Banthai.
Good Luck

Booking for (example) April 1 directly on www.nana.co.th is 1290 baht. http://www.phuket-info.com/hotels.htm is 1250 Baht (Both Single).
I usually compare and have found differences both way. If the difference is marginal I prefer to book direct.

Banthai
Yes I agree it is best to deal direct, but you can get some good deals on
Sawadee.com - Thailand tourism portal - Hotel and Resort reservations
It is better than the published rate, but I will also give you a tip if you private message me.
I have been staying at the Banthai 4 times a year for over 10 years and it is a great Hotel, great Location, good shops and I have never had any problems.
Regards
Drew

I think guesthouses can get cheaper directly but good hotels you can get good deals by internet or travel agent.
In bkk i tried once to stay longer than booked but they couldnīt give me the rate i paid at my travel agent at home. They adviced me to contact my travel agent at home and book with him. I did and got the same cheap rate.
Also in Hua Hin the Evason i book via latestays.com and there it says the prices are only for farrang and the best is thaiīs canīt get a cheaper rate.
So i think itīs always worth to try all three ways (Travel agent, direct, internet)

I'm just trying to broaden my experience this time and it's proving to be a pain in the butt. I am very wary of 3rd party websites and booking agents though.
